How to remove cylinder lining in OS ABC-engine?

I am trying to disassemble an old OS 25 marked 25F, I believe it is an FSR.
(the reason for the disassembly is to be able to clean out old rubber-like oil from the ball bearings.)

What is the trick neccesary to be able to remove the cylinder lining? I think it is an ABC-engine (Aluminium piston, Chromed Brass cylinder lining). I have tried to knock on it carefully with a (hammer + plastic pin) from the crankcase direction, but it refuses to "pop up".
It is necessary to heat up the whole engine block to a certain temperature?

Regards

RE: How to remove cylinder lining in OS ABC-engine?

Sometimes, a well-used engine will have the liner virtually "glued" in from burned fuel residues. If the liner can't be gently-pried up from the bottom, then you'll have to heat the crankcase to release it. If the liner's had damage, it may be impossible to remove it. Sometimes a damaged liner gets distorted in the case and just cannot be removed. In that case, you'd have to junk the liner and case.
