Gentlemen:
I have a OS Max .15 C/L engine, brand new that I bought in the 70's and never ran. I would like to know if there is a carburator I could fit to this engine to use in RC applications. Thanks. Stan Mark |

Smark,
You could get a carburetor for your engine would be to locate an old O.S. .15 R/C and use the carb from that. Another way would be to measure the inside diameter of the boss in the crankcase that would take the carb and check it against some of the current OS Carbs. The diameter of the carbs' necks is available. If you can measure it in mm, we can see if there's a current carb that might work. You would have to work out how to retain it on the engine, though. The current carbs' mounting holes are very likely to be different. We hope you find this information helpful. Hello Bill
I was lucky enough to find the old instruction sheet for the engine. The carb assembly part number is "22081003" Are there any in stock or is there a suitable substitute? Thanks Stan Mark |

Stan,
The carb number you gave is for a discontinued O.S. carb for 21-25-size engines. It has a 9mm throat. The only current carb with a 9mm throat, which would likely work is the carb for the O.S. Wankel: OSMG3416 41618010 CARB 30WANK $39.99 You can order this carburetor through your favorite hobby retailer. We hope you find this information helpful. Thanks Bill.
Sound though it might be the same cost to buy a new .15 with the carb and use the old engine for my control line planes. Stan |
