RE: piston ring

If your engine has poor compression, then either the valves are not properly-sealing, or the ring is not sealing. You can tell the engine has poor compression either by a low compression feel when you turn it over, or by a poor or non-existent idle after the engine's had a lot of successful running with a good idle.

* i would like to mention that the engine has great compression.
keeps steady idle. and turns good rpm.

and if i may, i have another question:
a couple of months ago i posted about my 91FSII-P.
the problem was that even with the needle fully closed- the engine still turns.
as i was advised i replaced the carb body with a new one, but still the same problem.
* the needle itself was also replaced.
i must say the engine does work smoother..

is it normal for a pumped engine?

thanks again
:-)
