break-in of 40 LA??
Hey, I just recieved my Avistar 40 Select and was wondering how to break in the engine. I read the manual but it was kind of confusing to me. I started it up (needle setting at 1 1/2 turns out), then when warm i went full throttle and opened it up another 180 degrees as say's in the manual. But after that i got confused. do i run it at full throttle the whole time or just for the adjustment. I went on with the "break-in" process. I held the model on the ground and gradually go full throttle for a while and then back down. I did this for a while untill the tank was empty. I was wondering if this is a decent way of doing it before i get it in the air, or if there is a better way i could do it.
thank you for your help :) |

Just use the breakin procedure that is in the O.S. Max .40 LA's manual, and you'll be fine. It's best if you have an experienced flyer help you.
Learning to fly all by yourself without an instructor is called the "crash and repair" method. Even though the model may be a trainer, you'll need help to learn successfully in a reasonable amount of time. |
