Do I qualify as an OF because I remember a slot car track was sets of 'O' guage scale track hard soldered to studs in the table surface to guide large aluminum bodied cars powered by Dooling .29s and .60s (gas, yet, about the time glow engines were still something new and unique), other people were still running tether cars powered by the same type of engine, or remembering when Aristo-Craft brought out one of the first RC cars, powered by a 12 V NT-6 lead-acid battery, and had a transmitter that made use of a "Coherer-Decoherer, aka spark gap radio. Keying the transmitter magnetized a glass tube filled with iron filings, which caused a similar reaction in the reciever. Similar to Marconi's first radio. Using it could blank out everybody's radios, and even televisions, for blocks around. Bandwidth was a few hundred kilohertz. No fine tuning. (I had a Radio Electronics mag around 1964 that talked about a recreation of that Marconi rig. Illegal by FCC dictates before WW-I. The recreation, with about 1/4 the power of the original, not only swamped every radio and TV for over a half-mile radius, it even killed car and bus gas engines for a several block radius!)
And magazines were carrying articles on how to carve a race car body to be powered by CO2 capsules, or even the propulsion part of a larger skyrocket, which at the time could be purchased at many corner variety and grocery stores for the 4th of July and New Year's day.

when I can remember during summer break making a few bucks from my street side shoe shine stand/lemonade stand......[&:]......now-a-days for my kids...no way [&o] Not a chance unfortunately.
only1....i remember when a pickle was a nickle.....a HUGE Hershey's chocolate bar was 10c...not the same size now-a-days.

Acension Island, South Atlantic had an outdoor theater (1980s) showing very old gtrr movies outdoors, drinking beer eating fries and the warm South Atlantic wind keeping things very comfortable. After the Faulklins, I doubt there was any beer left on the island.
Guam had the Latta Club that did the same but there was more beer and the fries were bigger.
