Default Hello for now!

Thought I would drop in and make a post to catch up with ya'll while I wait on my Slash to sell in the marketplace. I'll be checking in and staying active on this thread until my stuff sells.

So, anyways, how have you all been?

Things are good here, I'm employed full time, working 40-55 hours a week as a materials handler for an international corporation. Not much else has changed for now. Got myself a new 1:1 toy

1993 StepSide F150
4x4, 302 V8, 5 spd manual
Manual locking 4x4, Dana 44 front,
3" body lift and 31" tires

So far, I;ve done a LOT to this thing! In the last month I;ve dropped about $1900 and 87 hours of work into it and am nearing my "temporarily complete" phase. Next step is 35" tires and 6" suspension lift, and been looking into dropping in a Summit Racing crate engine

Anyways, here's some pics of the baby, named "The Black Pearl". Post what you all have been up to lately, I do kind of miss my RCU friends a bit!

Haha Thank ya! Yea the dash tach was the first one I've ever installed, took about an hour but man it looks sweet, and is wired into my dash dimmer for lighting, too, I was very pleased with it! Glad to hear you are doing well! I feel ya on the working crazy hours, I leave at 2 PM and get home at 2:15 AM, the jobs not bad except on slow days we cover about 15 miles by foot, up to 25 on busy days My poor feet! On weekends we have just been relaxing, taking in a Sunday car show here and there but otherwise I spend most of my free time wrenching on the truck.

Nice pic of that tach lit up in display mode for ya!

My god that shift light is enough to blind you lol. 6500rpm must sound good too. I've also been having on going issues with the Hyundai. Now, is either the battery, or alternator. The cheapest way out is a for sale sign, which I am highly considering. This car has been nickel and dimin' me; $950 tranny, $80 for control arm and stabalizer link, $120 for all new rear brakes due to brake shoe failure. And now, either a battery or alternator.

Hey there Auto! I've been ok lately. You probably don't know me too well, due to how you left when I was just starting. Nice Ford. Manual was a good choice...

Well, gentlemen, here is the kicker: My wife agreed to one thing: I could have my V8 4X4, lift and all, if my next major purchase involves allocating up to $5k for a car for her. I laid down choices that would put us in the "nice used car" range: Mercedes Benz, BMW, Audi, or, if we can find a good one, she actually really wants a Ford Fusion. She just wants four doors, and nice, in her words haha

And yes, that light even lets me know in the daytime haha At night the whole cabin lights up blue when it hits, should be good for those late night mud adventures And that redline was before it was set. Factory redline on this is 5300, I am told, and it quits making useable power at about 5k, so that's where it is set now, at 5k. I am told by the P.O. that the 5.0 in it is actually a 100k mile replacement from a '92 Mustang GT, and I'll tell ya, breathing through a high-flow cat and 28" Thrush glass pack, she sounds so nice I;ve never even used the nice new CD player and amplifier I put in after purchase XD

Bring me up to speed, in detail if possible, about the Hyundai and I will lend my advice!

DieHarder: I believe I remember you, there was a guy named DieHard something or other using an orange Lambo as his avatar? At any rate, hello there! Manual was not a choice, but a requirement! I haven't owned an auto (outside of what I've bought my wife) in a decade, can't stand em, don't like em!

I may become active in here again, I've noticed they put down new carpet here...it's a nice shade

Well, I did some testing after jumping the battery, and the battery is toast. I got it running and let it run for about 10 minutes, and after 3 starts, the battery was dead. So here is atleast another $100 part. Small battery, odd dimensions, and reversed battery posts=pricey battery.

Sounds like a voltage regulator to me, new alternator for sure! Check all your grounds, too!

Yep! That was me! I changed my avatar to a piece of abstract art that I liked, and I changed my username from "Diehard1207" to just "Dieharder". Diehard was already taken...

I have a B4.1. Get some upgraded tie rods, and front arms, and as well if you can, the +8mm chassis. Makes a difference in steering.

Meh, it may only see limited run time and spend most of its days collecting dust, we don't run much any more, I'm just gonna slap on some new tires and wheels, a cheap BL system and the $15 FlySky, as it'll likely only see usage for light bashing or street driving. I did clean them both up today, and they are both in really great shape under all the dirt that was there!
