nothing. when it came down on the last drop off the rear slapped pretty hard and it rocked the motor up and tightened up the gear mesh. just had to loosen up the motor screws and reset the gear mesh.

It does cut your day short - but as you said, good that it was a simple fix (and free, no shipping)

I've been rc free for a solid 14 days due to a surgery. Hopefully I'll be back in business soon.

Lol, good one Eyeball surgery - detached retina. I don't recommend it. Unless you have to, in which case I highly recommend it.

No eye patch. But 1st day my eye was so bandaged it was like a patch. Of course I was talking like a pirate.

I've had to keep my head down, part of the recovery. It's weird drinking coffee from a straw. And tonight, after weeks, finally cracked a cold one. Beer through a straw is also quite weird. Just another day or so of the head down stuff.

Tomorrow is my niece's pinewood derby. I got the block to a wedge before the eye thing but she did a lot this year. I hope she does well; she won last two years at our pack. We'll see.

well my 3 weekend long battery testing and weeding out project is almost over. had to dispose of ruffly 10 packs (nicd and nimh packs). oddly enough a 1400nicd stick pack from probably 1993 still works! no joke i got almost 7 minutes of run time in my wheely king with it.
had to get rid of i think 6 3300nimh packs do to acid or bad cells. im down to 1 3300nimh pack, 2 1700nicd packs, a 1400nicd stick pack, an unknown mah nimh stick pack, and one 1700nicd 12 cell for my starter box. (plus my lipo's)
made some room in the hobby catch all drawer in the workbench.

my garage still smells like engine degreaser. and i just added primer to the mix. can't stay in there for more than a few minutes at a time.
what's weird is i used the degreaser in the driveway outside the garage. and hosed it all down and was done with it by 2pm yesterday afternoon.

well it happened again. iv had the hankering to drive an RC car for a couple days now. i don't have time to prep a truck for tomorrow and i just checked the weather and it's listed at sub 60 and windy Wednesday and rain Thursday through Saturday. and more rain Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
you'd be surprised how often this happens. it's ether rain or extreme heat every time i get the hankering.

you might have to rig up some kind of fpv system so you can drive from inside. I've thought about that as part of my snow plow rc I'd like to build. If I have to stand outside to plow, I may as well just shovel and get it over with. I havent actually built this yet, just been thinking about it for years, lol.

i have about as much interest i FPV as i have in being kicked in the nuts. i don't run in the rain anyway, i don't care if the electrics are "waterproof" i keep my stuff dry. and the heat has never actually stopped me, just pay really close attention to the motor and esc temps and it's a fun way to be miserable

I don't run in the rain either. I have run in the snow, but not in a while. Id imagine your opportunities to run in snow are quite limited. The Tmaxx conversion was the rc I wanted to put the plow on. Just got it running not too long ago. Maybe the plow for next winter. Barely snowed here this year.

id have to drive over an hour to get to snow. come to think of it iv never actually been in or even seen snow. iv been to where it snowed a few days prior but all that was left was like slush and ice. and that was over 30 years ago.
the flip side of that is iv lost count of how many 100+ degree days iv been in. and i grew up without air conditioning. that was fun. i can remember a week in summer between my sophomore and junior years of high school where it was in the upper 90's maybe even 100 for like a week straight. me and some friends were hanging out in one of there garages and running RC cars all day. good times.

I did spend a few years in Alabama as a kid, so some heat days. But it didn't phase me the way heat does now.
I recall a winter where we had something like 20 days in a row below zero (or below freezing, one or other). That was as an adult, that was cold. I had to put a lamp under the hood and a blanket over the hood so my car would start. It worked until the bulb burned out. Had a few days off work as a result, sadly I couldn't go anywhere. Luckily I lived a block away from a pretty cool bar.
Didn't have any rcs back in those days.

Niece and I ran the Losi LXT for about a half hour this evening. It was about 40 out so we didn't hang too long. Had some fun tho.

it always fascinates me when a neighborhood has no sidewalks.

My old house about 5 miles away had (has) a sidewalk. Small town location, one way street, side alley, 45x110 lot. Most of the suburban neighborhoods in my general area don't have sidewalks around here. The towns do. Closer you get to Pittsburgh the more likely you are to find sidewalks even in the suburban neighborhoods. I'm about 25 miles from the Burgh.

Now that you make me think about it, if it's a larger tract type neighborhood, probably developed by a single large builder, they most likely have sidewalks. If it's a smaller neighborhood, or had a number of smaller builders, no sidewalks.

fresh rubber on the front. have to get wider rear wheels. tires i got won't fit on a 4.5" wide wheel. need a 5.5" wheel. but it's good to finally see the car at least partially on the ground again.
