NASCAR was started by moon shine boys who didnt have anything to do on the weekend to blow off steam. As for calling Moonshine boy criminals, with out them there wouldnt be any NASCAR or today ways of making methonal fuels=moonshine/corn fuel!! The six pack challenger were only made in Cananda. Now if you'd had a 68 Hemi dart or Cuda that was set up at the hurst factory there worth 150.000-200.000 dollars. If you had a Hemi 70 cuda conv its worth 350.000-400.000. and yes I'm a big Dodge fan!! As for toyota keeping US people working, but you have to factor in it also put other people out bussines and work. 20s-70s we bought american prouducts, made in the usa. That when USA was on top for there stuff and making the big money. Now where so depended on foran stuff we cant do with out,But this has a neg efect too more people are out off work and some companys hire Mexicans for cheep labor.[] Do you see any other foran county buying hour prouducts? Not much!Tell me where the free trade got us at?

I am a big Mopar fan myself I have a 69 440 six pack roadrunner. I agree 20's-70's we all bought american products but then forigen companies started making better products. We are a capitalist society the better products will rise to the top. So how can companies be blamed for hurting america when all they have done is beat american companies at the game our country decided on.
It is just sad to see the misguided nationalism that still exsits in this country.

Dodge is a USA born company!!! The way that I'm hearing the the vic press of chysler is subpose to buy them out. Toyota wasnt born in this country!!!or Honda.or subru.NASCAR is an american race car event with american born cars in it. Do you see any american cars racing in jappan? or do you see our cars selling over there too? I say NO!!! When you bring a american car in Japan they highcks up the prices on our car over there so they wont sell well at all.You tell me as that fare?We should do the same to there cars to and see how they like it?[:@]

So i guess you have never heard on import tariffs we do raise the pirce when things are imported yet imports are still sold for prices that are almost comparable short of the trucks. But I think it says alot for toyotas quality that people would pay 48,000 for a fully loaded Tundra when you can get a chevy or ford truck for alot cheaper with the same options

and who's fault is it that we dont sell cars over there as we should you say, hmmm the US govt., US companies. OH i forgot dodge is US BORN so its ok to race in nascar even though there owned by a german company. But meanwhile toyota who has been in this country over 70 years helping americans and there family with work helping the US economy, putting food on the american people tables. who has way more sales than dodge IN THE US by toyota manufatured cars here IN THE US, you have a problem with because they werent US born.

did you know that the first people in the US were indians. who discovered america i think they have a holiday for it hmmm colombus day, where was he from hmmm italy, who did he sail for hmmm not america. the rest of this country is diverse population of english, italian, spanish greek, and so on and so on. do us a favor stop being so closed minded.

Look i dont want to argue anymore, fact is people like me who think openly, also people running nascar believe that toyota would be good for the sport or esle they wouldnt be racing in it already. they have been racing in the truck series for years now. and I am glad to see them in the nextel cup series.

They do race American cars in Japan. American drivers will even go to Japan to race sometimes.
For example; Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. raced their Coca-cola cars in Japan.

The Toyotas racing in Nascar ARE American born. That's what MADE IN U.S.A. means!

I am with this guy!! There is no problem with Toyota running in NASCAR, it just means there should be more competition.

yeah i know, but i would like to see brian vickers get into the top ten, not because he drives a toyota, just because he usually doesn't make mistakes and he is a conservitave driver.

I like Jeff Burton, one of the few gentlemen drivers left. If Vickers continues as he is, he too will develop into another of the Gentlemen of the sport.

Well. I thought Dale had the race won( I would have been almost as happy as Burton winning).....but Kyle Bush.....only 2nd to Tony Stewart as the worlds biggest WHINER......Tony needs to start doing Gerber baby food commercials, where he can whine to someone that gives a rat's ass. Maybe he could get the Bush boyz to powder his behind for him...... In an interveiw I saw today, he said he not having fun anymore, and retirement is right around the corner..GO, GO NOW, don't let the door hit you in the ass Tony....LEAVE......take the Bush babies with you.

But Jeff Burton was in the right place with the right car when the white flag flew....and definitely in the right spot for the checkers!

someone explain what is toyota about the car? The badge? the body lines? Certainly nothing in the chassis, suspension, or drivetrain. Take the motor out of Gordans car and put it any toyota car, and you havent changed anything

I stopped watching nascar after Sr. died, and its a good thing i did. Sounds like its nothing but a joke now.

Actually, it was a joke way before then, when they stopped using real cars. Their name says it is stock car racing. There is not a car out there with a production piece on it.

well they changed the cars for safety reasons, cars are getting faster, what do you want them to do kill them selves. safety innovation for todays nascar is incredible with the neck brace and the soft walls, yes they dont use stock cars anymore but it was only in the matter of safety

Now Toyota? I don't give a damn if they use the old east German Trabaut,(probably spelled wrong, but you know what I'm talking about) I am thru wasting my time with what has just become another intertainment industry, and a rather poor one at that. I'd rather be building or flying models or watching my grass grow. Jerry
And now, 18 or 19 posts later............................. you continue with the same worn out dribble. If you don't like it, aren't interested in it...WHY KEEP POSTING in the same thread?????????

Excuse me! I thought everybody was free to express their opinion. Guess I must have been wrong.

lol they're called stock cars coz in the 50's they were stock, you can have a safe car that is stock, it dont need a 750 hp engine for them to be compeditive, give evryone the same car from the same manufactuer with the only mod to them being no interior and a roll cage then nascar would be worth watching, all about the driver then
