A short while ago my mom asked me to check out her cell phone because it was doing the same thing, and when I opened the case to see what kind of battery it had I noticed the lithium battery was all hot and puffed up[X(]. Beeeeeeeeeeee careful!

That battery is a lithium ion and is way safer than any lipo. FYI Maybe it is a lipo though......haven't seen any lipo's in cell phones around here but I suppose they might be.

You're right, it was a li-ion pack. but I decided to get rid of it because I didn't like the way it was puffed up... it was bulging out of the plastic outer case and you could see what looked like aluminum foil inside, so I wrapped it in like, 5 plastic bags and took it to radioshack (they said they'd have it recycled).
