does anybody know if its possible to make a v engine that is a 2 stroke?? ive been trying to design one and i cant find a way to get fuel to the cylinders.

Its possible to have a multicylinder 2 stroke; my old snowmobile was, some bikes are (or were), outboards, ect. Not sure about a V.

it's possible, what you gotta do is have a root type blow to get the fuel and air into the cylinders instead of ports and it going in the crankcase, wel any low prsure high volume blower, has to be a supercharger, turbos dont work coz of there turbo lag, then it's as simple as having no ports in the block and hvaing the inlet port coming directly from the manifold, you can still use a carbie and evrything that way, the tricky parts the cranks i think, coz you gotta have a sepret crank pin for each piston coz theres double the power strokes so you dont have two cylinders fiering at the same time

i figured a away to have a multicylinder inline engine. i was just having a problem w the v design. i was thinking about having prob like 4 cylinders to start w then after awile maby 8 or even 10. the supercgarger is a great idea but is there any other way that wouldnt require such a complex design. i plan on building these on just a standard mill and lathe. (no cnc) ive been looking at supercherger designs and im not sure if i could build something like that.

those are four strokes though. i really dont like designing camshafts. ive done a few in the past and didnt like them much. i think i found a way to get fuel into the cylinders wo a blower but im not sure how to get oil into the crankcase to lubricate the crankshaft and wristpins. if there is just oil sitting in the bottom of the crankcase will it get stirred up enough to get to the wristpins?

It would be best to do a LOT of research on engine design, and theory first....your basic non-understanding of how to get fuel and oil into a 2 stoke means you are WAY ill-prepared to undertake such a project......

actually ive been researching 2s for about 3 years now. and i know very well how they work. the design i am currently working on will NOT allow fuel/air into the crankcase, it will go from the carb to the combustion chamber directly.also, im trying to keep this engine from having to use an oil pump.
i went to school for 2 years specializing in mechanical design. where i live in florda dosent have much of an industry for that so i ended up doing architectual work.
oh and by the way. that is a very nice engine you have.
Uhhhhh huh..........designing camshafts....... http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_45...tm.htm#5565077 Drawing camshafts, and designing are 2 different worlds.....making them goes to a whole 'nother dimension....

hey man by all means i dont know it all. if i did i wouldnt be here and i would have already had it finished. i was just wondering if i put oil into the crankcase will it get stirred up enough to lubricate the wristpins. and if you think youre wasting your time then im sorry for using it.

Kid I can draw external design concept pics all day.....they aren't worth the paper or time wasted on them if you don't have operation specs, clearances, sizes and dimensions, rotational mass balance factors.....in othe words, just computer assisted doodling.
When you've got interal component 3 axis drawings of the cases, crank, pistons, cylinders, intake track, and just about 20 or30 more variables....like I said with dimensions, clearances...and oh yeah....materials used...I don't really think I'd call it "designing" an engine.......

actually that is a totally 3d design. it has all the internals and everything. and yes i did tollerance everything so it will work. oh and i ran pressure tests on the crankcase, cylinders and all the other parts to make sure the materials i used would work.
no offense but you seem to be very negative. esp toward somebody thats trying to learn something.

Kid.....OK, then post all the specs, dimensional drawings, and materials list for individual components. You want an opinon, post it all up, you say you've got it, and pressure tested, etc....you shouldn't have any questions, you should have all the answers, so let's see 'em.
And if you've tested it, let's see the engine.
Oh, and by the way....any "Master" draftsman, knows the diference between "3 axis" drawings, and 3 dimensional drawings...... show us what you got....it takes 3 axis to program CNC equipment....
You should read some of your other posts, in another thread from TODAY.......you have as big a clue as ttoks, or maybe not. You can't design, nor build, what you don't understand...

well you appearently think im lying about everything so there is no sence in it. im at work and thats the only file i have of it. everything else is on my laptop at home. (including the test results) i tested it in the program i designed it in. why are you so negative toward somebody who is trying to learn something? do you think that since im just a teenager that im just out to waste peoples time and make up a bunch of little drawings?

Prove me wrong.
When you get home, post ALL the info I asked for. Simple.
Unless you think those files will be corrupted when you get there, or your hard drive will have crashed, maybe someone dropped your laptop...... Remember 3 AXIS drawings, specs, clearances, timing numbers, rotational balance factors....not more pretty computer assisted pics...
I started off trying to help kid, and you threw it back in my face...so put up, or shut up.

oh and my other post was about a totally diffrent engine. if you could tell me how it works it would be greatly appreciated.
and i apologize if it seemed like i was trying to be rude. its just that you get in here and start saying i dont know what im doing i found it kinda insulting. so if youre intrested in helping im willing to listen.

As I thought..... no problem kid, I ain't got time for bullshooters anyway, you may impress you little freinds, but you'll never impress those that have already been there, done that, till you can back it up.

Wow, arn't you cool doing everything you can to bash someone.
I think he is telling the truth, who knows maybe he is using Pro E, or Solid Works, both do the types of testing that he is talking about.
Just because someone shows you a picture with no specs. doesn't mean he just made the whole concept up. It is probably a motivational picture, or he used it for bragging rights at work. I know my father does that all the time being he is a Mechanical Designer and cooks up these weird ideas to make. But he doesn't have internet so he just renders a quick shot and heads off to work.
