vista itself has no problem running games, the problem is that vista has a lot of bugs, and it's a lot slower loading times then xp, the concept of it is great but it meeds some polishing work to be done before it's ready to pass XP as Microsoft's flagship operating system.

Also, keep in mind since it is new, these bugs will eventually go away as MS finds them and fixes them. I would personally wait until next year or later before getting Vista. By then, MS should have fixed more stuff.

Another thing to keep in mind is that, even though Vistas is a 64bit OS and there are 64bit CPUs out there, most of the other crap in computers is till only 32bits. This means that 64bit crap will never see its full potential until all the other crap, and software, is all brought up to a minimum of 64bit.

This will take time since many software writers are still writing codes geard for 32bits and alot of hardwar makers are also only producing 32bit hardware.

The usual bugs that come with any new software. They are so numerous that I cannot name them all. The most serious bugs would be your 'puter running normally and then the computer completely shuts down and reboots. Vistas might still have a bug or two that do this. (At least, if the shutdown is not from the OS, MS will report the problem to the software maker of the application responsible.) Other bugs appearing could be when running a game or other application, the application ceases because Vistas might not have its 32bit coding written correctly such that the application shuts down. Or, since 64bits is still new, the 64bit coding that is meant to run 64bit applications could be faulty and the application will shut down also in his case. Since very few 64bit apps are out, this end of Vistas might not reveal its bugs just yet.

Aside from these coding bugs, there are thousands of hacker punks out there who do nothing but write viruses to infect everyone's computer. As they find the security holes in Vistas, they willsend an onslaught of viruses to attack it. Look at XP, MS had to put out two major service packs and hundreds of patches to address these hacker viruses. (I only hope Vistas is better protected and the security holes are mush much harder to exploit.)
