Default Lupe came to my boy's mom's job.

If that confused you..

I was at B lunch today, my boy Ryan from NO came up to be and said, "Guess who came to my momma job yesterday"
Me: Ms. Dorsey? (crazy teach)
Him:No son, Lupe Fiasco.
Me: [X(]
Him: Yes son, he gave me The Cool and a CD with Superstar signed by him.
Me:[X(][X(]

And the thing that really got us was this, his moms been talking to Lupe 3 or 4 times now because she works in a advertisement company. She asked Ryan if they knew each other or went to school together and he flipped. Thats one of the best to ever spit!

So basically, if I don't get a copy of the album Imma leave the school in cuffs and a murder charge.

Said he was rockin' Kanye's shoes and "The Cool" tee.

But seriously, if I don't get the copy of the CD Imma beat his fat arse.

Anybody else met one of the best yet?

Wow. I cannot believe you guys don't know Lupe. He is easily the best rapper to spit.

"The Cool" is his new album dropping in a month or so. Kanye has a clothing line coming soon and Lupe had a pair of his kicks on, he also was wearing a shirt with a melting ice cube on it.

Anthoop and nick-If you guys don't like hip-hop you still need to listen to Lupe Fiasco, just a few songs. The kid is a lyrical genius. Someone back me up!
http://profile.imeem.com/5_Uo_Ot/pla...usic_playlist/
That is a link to a few of his songs. 1st, 2nd, and last are the best there.

What is real music? Lupe is real, not Plies, Boosie, T.I., and any other crap. So is Talib Kweli, Kanye, Cassidy, and a few others. What kind of music you both listen to? I'm guessing rock of sometype. I like some of Coheed and Cambria.

I got to meet John McLaughlin (a personal hero of mine), and spend an hour and a half with him. I also met Nuno Bettencourt and Steve Morse at the same symposium. Cost a fortune to go, but it was worth it!

I got to admit. I don't listen to rap, but I actually watched that whole video on youtube. I guess I like him a bit better because he's not what you would consider a "typical" rapper. He knows a thing or two about putting a song together.

He isn't even a rapper; he is a lyricist. If you listen to "Dumb it Down" he explains how people and labels try to make him rap about cars and the crap T.I. raps about and stop using "big" words. Saying things like "Your making these kids graduate, these young ladies think they're queens." Telling him to dumb down his lyrics. He's also known as the positive rapper. He doesn't call females "ho" or "female dog" for a lack of a better term. Doesn't talk about killing even though he lived it everyday. Lupe is the man. So is Talib Kweli and Common. You gotta check these cats out.

It's alright bro. I understand you. Kanye's shoes? He has many. Are you talking about the College Dropout Bapestas?

The Cool tee is pretty fly, I seen it when it came out a little while ago. Hard to get though.

LMAO at the "I listen to real music comment".
I GUARENTEE there are 3 times as many lame rock bands as there are lame rappers. Everyone and their grandma thinks they can be in a band (if you saw Americas Next Band or whatever you know what I mean).

I guess I like him a bit better because he's not what you would consider a "typical" rapper.
What is a typical rapper? What you listen to on the radio does not justify an entire culture, and the same can be said with any genre.

Annie! There is a lot to not understand in this thread!
You must realise that some of the "dudes" that read this forum were brought up in a different era and terms such as "diggin his kicks" or "one of the best to spit" mean very little!
I think when voicing an opinion of something on a forum that is veiwed by all age ranges then you should use English instead of slang/street talk (whatever you'd call it?)
Fair enough you and indeed everyone has there own taste and opinion....but it's nice to be able to comprehend that opinion.

I'm trying to say it in the same way you'd say "typical rock band" (i.e. radio) which anyone can easily go outside of and find WAY better musicians.
