yeah, i get that, maybe just the cables then, should the chain be loose? its pretty annoying, everytime the bike hits the ground, it rattles like crazy. How could decrease weight, for not too much money?
you need to tian the chain. gust dont do it to tite. You could take off the refliters, chain gard and other things it could go with out.

yeah, ill just cut some of the seat post off, and i took off the reflectors already. To tighten the chain, i have to loosen the wheel nuts right? I dont have anything to do that with, so i have to wait until i ask my uncle to, and then i could take off the stand too, since the bike owner didnt do it for me.

i see, thanks. How are the carbon fiber mini bars? http://www.danscomp.com/361000.php?cat=PARTS# Are mini bars shorter too because mine seems pretty big, and reaches the crotch when spun, which scares me, lol

The mini bars are for smaller people. That is why the max weight is 100 pounds.

which one do you want? i think [link=http://www.danscomp.com/201226.php]this one[/link] would be cool if you got it painted, and its only 3 pounds!!!! Add the rest of the titanium parts, and this thing would weight like 15 pounds, lol
I want the Hoffman Loyalty or Sunday Dreamsicle.

You shouldn't cut the bars for loosing wieght... If you don't like the length or how they feel cut them.

You need to cut them. I like the feel of shorter bars but if you are satisfied than so be it.

well i already bought a Redline complete, which im totally satisfied with, but i think the bars are a bit long, beccause its super hard to spin em aroudn without hitting your area, which is pretty dangerous, dont ya think? How much do you cut them?

Damn, you're really good nbk, and i like the skatepark, theres not much room in New York, for a spacious one like that.

It's possible you bought too small of a bike, not that the bars are too long. I know on my current bike the frame is too small so I cant even do bar spins.

nope, its a regular 20 inch frame, with 20 inch wheels, but actually im working on a 180 spin to fakie, to another 180, but its pretty hard, so itll take time. Theres no doubt that a lot of people ride in NY, but most of the people use the streets as a skatepark, because the regualr skateparks are small, but have everything you need, like a bowl, table top, and a load of jumps.
NBK, did you cut your bars? Do you have any pics of your bike?

Yes but how tall are you? Most bikes are usually between 20-21 inch top tubes. You may have been better with a 20.5 tt depending on your height.

That true, I'm almost 6' and I feel better on a 20.5" or 21" frame.

Default RE: Which BMX bike?

Been getting out there and having fun and really motivated to get a new bike now. Mine is just too small and heavy to really advance.

Looking at a couple, but this one looks nice.
http://www.diamondbackbmx.com/items....d=2&itemid=241

I have heard things about Diamondbacks before; but this one seems pretty nice. Full 4130 frame and forks. Any opinions/ reccomendations on other bikes in the same price range.

What about the Eastern Element?
http://www.danscomp.com/101182.php
http://www.danscomp.com/101557.php

Have heard great things about them; but the top tube might be too big (20.75?)
But the 08 has 4130 everything... NICE.

Any other reccomendations?

This is what I'm thinking of:

http://www.danscomp.com/101777.php?cat=BIKES
And the Eastern Element looks good.

i like the second eastern element, looks nice, i always liked white bikes, if there wasnt blue, lol. Im still young, so im only 5'5'', so i dont think this one is too small, maybe i just have to get used to it. My dad wants to ship my old bike to europe, so next time we go to the shop, i might get white handlebars, which would look nice on the bike.

Hey NBK, you got the bike painted, or you get it done from the company? you dont run brakes either, hm, and what pedals are those? they look really nice. [sm=thumbup.gif]
