Default This S2000... Nicely done, or overdone?

Vote away...

PS I'm not going this way with my own car, but my own opinion is that except the toyo tires stickers and the c-west sticker on the front, the car is beautifully (and more importantly, tastefully) done. IMO, that does not qualify as 'rice'.

Help me settle an argument on an S2k forum.

Yeh, I'm still waiting for it, just a few more days. Joined an s2k forum in my impatience, and we're discussing this car. Apparently it's too much for some people, I think it's porn on wheels, even though, I would NOT personally go this route with my own car, I appreciate the taste and style with which this owner has gone about his purchases.

All it needs is to get rid of those unnecessary stickers on the wing and the front, and fit GT style mirrors and it'd be pretty much perfect.

+ Stance & wheels/tires = VERY good
+ hood = awesome
+ seats = killer

- Not feeling wing... I think a lip spoiler would be better
- Not feeling stickers... cheapens it; they all need to go away

I am mixed about the body kit... It looks pretty clean, but that front lip with the monster opening doesn't do it for me- little too ricey. Overall the front bumper is a little too much for me, I would like to see something a little more subtle.

Fair comment Dale, the wing, while in my opinion understated 'enough', I could live without. The stickers I agree, I don't like the ones I pointed out, but I could easily live with the shopping list on the skirts, gives it a racy look. Overall impression, it's a very nice looking car, wouldn't you agree?

I don't like the front spoiler/lip. Other than that it's pretty much bang on.

I would say none of those choises describe it, i say it is done perfect, i would not call it rice. But as a import or tuner. I like it.

Take away all the stickers and the black hood and change back to silver and it'd be a pretty good looking car. Are there any performance modifications?

I love it. The front bumper doesn't match the side skirts IMO but I wouldn't change anything else. Maybe the wing..

I never got into the CF hood thing. The lack of matching color with the rest of the body detracts from it, IMO. I know that CF is all the rage and cool, but I don't care for it on the hood of the car when the rest is a different color. That, combined with the hood pins, is a turn off for me.

I do like the lowered stance and the chrome lip on the wheels though.

I just noticed that, I HATE chromed lips. They are so tacky IMO. But I'd still steal the car.

Decals are a no go imo. CF hood would look better if it was same color as the rest of the body. Other than that it's cool..

I have to agree, ditch the stickers and the wing. Get rid of the front lip, unless there is an intercooler behind it.

As well as being a stylish item, the front air dam is needed. I forget whether it is supercharged or turbocharged, but it is one of the two, and there is an intercooler in that bumper.

I too can live without the stickers and the wing, but I like the front bumper. A lot. And I normally agree with colour coding hoods, but this one just looks right. The wing is needed as well, it is a track car, not just a street tuner.

Thanks for the opinions guys.

I used to feel that way (although not as strongly), but I've seen a few rides with chromed lips on the wheels, and it can look really good when done right. I've seen it look pretty horrible as well - it just has to fit in well with the car overall.

i like my cars with SLIGHTLY bigger rims (never Chrome) SLIGHTLY wider tires, SLIGHTLY lower ride. stock paint, stock body parts, normal sized vented disks, SLIGHTLY louder and beefier exhaust, stock seats, stock radio, no HID headlights, medium tint on windows, no chromie exhaust tip, no wings (other than stock) MAYBE a offset racing stripe MAYBE... if a hood is going to be carbon, it should be painted to match, no ground effects, they increase drag and hit stuff.

stiff shocks, stiff springs, slightly modded engine (to not sacrifice reliabilty and life) slightly modded camber/castor to improve cornering, shock mount cross bar, upgraded swaybars, install oil cooler, and trans cooler, ram air intake better plugs, better wires, no engine paint, upgrade break fluid to dot 4 (if not already used) small turbo gauge, use of all synthetic oils and greases.

i care more about function than form, i also care more about longevity than peak power.
my car has a stock intercooler, stock oil cooler, stock trans cooler, stock pwr steering cooler, stock Dot 4 break system, upgraded cat (or pipe[>:]) adjusted wastegate, dropped 1 inch with stiffer springs (not cut) V rated tires (not really a upgrade)) ram air intake (lovely sound with turbo) upgraded front controll arms, soon to come (i have the parts) vented and sloted disks F/R. then eventually, ECM reprogram, (from 250+hp and 230lbs of torq to 290+hp and 325Lbs of torq) upgrade muffler from flowmaster (not loud) Shock tower brace.

she buggies now, and whips around corners like nothing, but it will be great with a little more power, a little more sound and a little stiffer front end.
i dont race around, but i do like to whip around corners.
