Default Is anyone else incapable of tying off balloons?

I am, apparently. I was trying to help a friend set up a room for his daughters birthday party, but I cannot for the life of me tie balloons properly. My girlfriend was able to do it with such grace and fluidity that I feel rather inadequate right now.

Anyone else here unable to tie balloons?

Are you speaking metaphorically and using 'tying of balloons' to represent something else buddy? I think they offer a medication for that now. Supposed to help you be able to properly 'tie balloons' for quite a while. You take one of the pills, you are supposedly supposed to be able to 'tie balloons' for up to four hours.

Good luck.

Well as a matter of fact, at one time I did have some difficulty tieing off balloons. The solution............let some air out........gives you more lenght at the stub.

Water balloons are next to impossible, hate it when you slip and they spray you, not the guy they are intended for , i guess we were given different amounts of dexterity

I have lived my entire life in the chase of manual dexterity. The fact that the hand is quicker than the eye is a mantra for me.

After all, thumbs and speech are what separates us from the animals.

Sheo, I'm sure if I taught you my technique, you'd never have another problem with balloons. Maybe I should do a youtube vid, but I don't have any balloons.

PS. Isn't it ironic, your name is taken from the demon of trickery, and you can't tie balloons!!!

EDIT: So I don't sound like an ass. Sorry.

Well, I won money for playing in UT2k4 tournaments, I guess that counts as pro, but it was never my primary career, just a talent. I was ranked pretty high at the national level at one time. I can point the mouse and click the button pretty well. Was never famous or anything though...

I was never tactically very good, I used to play mostly the instagib mod. My reflexes and mouse skills were formidable, but in standard deathmatch one on one, I used to get my ass handed to me by people who were much better tacticians.

Yep, Unreal Tournament. I got too old for it now, same reason I quit racing. My reflexes aren't what they used to be and I don't have enough time to practise.

PS. It's 9.30pm here in Greece.

I catie off balloon oif theya re big and mediem sized ones, but the small water balloons? Forget it. Founny, even as a teen, when making water balloons to ambush someone, I had to fill the balloon up with water, but promptly pass it off to some child to do the tying for me. (Maybe my fingers are just too fat for the juob).

I know that feeling, the sausage-looking balloons are a pain also to tie off, there is simply not enough to grab at the blow-end to tie it effectively. Those balloons and the small water balloons, if I try to tie them off, I always do a hack job and air leaks out

Baloons are easy for me to tie because I've got large fingers and hands...

I work at a party store so I would be SOL if I couldn't tie a balloon. What really sucks is when you get hi-float ooozing out the balloon. (Hi-float is a nasty, sticky, godforsaken chemical that we put in helium balloons to make them last longer... also closely resembles semen.)
