I'm surprised you guys haven't seen this yet. Anyway, yeah, really big deal, especially if you have a quick car or drive on bad roads. Don't forget to check on cars you intend to buy!!

Mine are old. Very old. More than a year and a half. I think about 2 or 3 years.

And they're completely bald. No traction whatsoever. The car slides in the rain, it'll lose itself over a wet pile of leaves.

ahhh.. gotta love not having traction.

Very important stuff. I tend to buy sticky tires, and thus they are worn out within a year or two. Shelf life is probably less of a problem if you have a very common size found on a wide variety of cars, but taking a car with an exotic tire size to a low volume shop probably isn't the best idea!

I can't check mine due to it being in the body shop, but I usually plan on replacing tires on any car I buy. Usually they're either nearing the end of tread life anyway, or the previous owner threw on poor quality rubber to try and help sell the car. "New tires!" < Riiight, and they're just above the quality of old rubber bands. [sm=lol.gif]

I've known about the dates for a few months now.

All of my families tires were less than a year old from the date we bought them.
