Hey I am not sure but I am sick of trying to find all my old passswords too. It seems like every page I normally visit is now requiring the passwords. Must be a cookie thing....going to grab the oreo's in case.

Waiting on the side for the answer with cookie monster.

Is there a "remember me" box you can check next to the login area?  Try that next time you log in.

D'oh!

In the meantime, I guess you could try FF3 or something, see if that helps.

I have found a broken page button on the 8.o ver. its switchs it back to the 6.0 ver. when you hit it and remembers to do that for the webpages you enter into it...I will give it a try.

That sounds like functionality I know IE8 has where you can choose to emulate IE7 - dunno if you can choose to do this "permanently" for specific sites or not.  If so, that would help.

I'm a FF freak, so wouldn't know for sure regarding IE8 and RCU......good luck!

I stopped using internet explorer a long time ago because it constantly has problems. Switch to firefox or chrome or what not.

You should have options to save passwords in IE8 if you go into your Internet Options.  I don't know where it is specifically, but look around and see what you can find.

Is firefox really that much better? If so how? I am a skeptic....one of my downfalls sometimes. Sometimes it saves me a lot of hassle too but...

So what would I like better about FF? I may have to take the leap of faith. You guys haven't givin me bad info yet .....

To me, it's just a matter of preference. I use both IE and FF (heck, I play with opera just for fun), and I like FFbecause of some of the add-ons you can install. Different browser skins to make it look cool, little apps you can install to make things a little nicer, etc. The big thinkI like about FFis FoxMarks (although they changed the name?). Anyway, if you have that set up, you can bookmark a page in FF at work, and when you close FFit will synch up with a server and store your bookmarks there.

When you go home and open FF, it logs in to that server behind the scenes and viola - you have your bookmarked page in FF at home already. Keeps them in synch. I like that. This assums you have set up/installed Foxmarks in both locations, of course.

On the down side, FF takes a while to fire up, which can be annoying.

Firefox is better simply because it's a much purer product than IE. It just translates the pages and doesn't try to do anything clever or snidey.

Agreed. It doesn't do anything it isn't supposed to. Plus it has a lot of really nice and useful add-ons for it. Honestly once I download IE8 expecting something awesome and was caught by the same problem the OP was having I immediately starting using Firefox regularly. I have about 6 different browsers on my computer though.

For IE8 to remember my RCU password, I had to enable "Compatibility Mode". It's that little button right beside the go button (looks like a piece of paper witha crack down the middle.)

Here is info on IE8 compatibility mode which you may need to enable as noted above in this thread if you have issues w/IE8.  I myself just use firefox but I have tested on IE8 without compat mode and rcu works fine for me
