Python.. You may want to check to see if your running in dual channel mode. download and run CPUZ (http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php)
That second DIMM may need to be moved to slot 3 (inner orange slot) to get dual channel mode. Motherboards can be misleading with the color scheme of the slots sometimes.

well in the book it said to put them in the same, i was use to one in yellow and one in orange but i did what the book said here hold on.

Note these are stock speeds, the cpu is a bit warm cause i just came out of a game and saw you wanted these SS.

Ok Looks like u got dual channel then. The 'unganged' does draw some curiousity. Try flipping the second dimm to the inner orange slot and see what CPUZ reads.

I find motherboards where the slot colors are grouped together a bit misleading. I've come across systems where I populated ram by slot color only to have single channel mode. once I moved the inner module over 1 into the different color slot I got dual channel mode.

Other manufacturers Alternate slot colors so by populating ram by color you get dual channel mode. example

Did a bit if reading last night.. for Phenom II it can go either way. Your technically in single channel mode right now but that is where you probably want to be. It depends on the type of apps you run. Best bet take gaming benchmarks, switch to ganged mode and run the benchmarks again and see which is better for you. Post the results as I'm interested to see what the results are.

Phenom has two memory controllers on the CPU.

Ganged is setting both memory controllers to work together which allows data (that is being used by all cores) to await on the queue until they are accessed.

Unganged means that the two controllers work independently. This allows them to work asynchronously with reference to individual clocks with their one or two Dimms.

wow that is surprising that it would make such little difference, I was hoping to see a larger gap of maybe 5 - 10 %
Thanks for posting the results!
