Just Cause 2
Anyone else picking up this game? It looks really good, check out some videos of it if you haven't yet. Came out today and sems to have above average revies so far. It's an open world action game like GTA but the gameworld is way bigger. Lots of towns and lots of jungle and rural areas. The first one got mxed reviews but I liked it quite a bit. This one seems to have fixed and improved upon moat things. It's basically what Mercenaries 2 should have been.

what games would you say this game compares to? ( couldnt get trailer to load) Maybe mercenaries 2 and Saints Row 2 a little bit? Meaning like, gameplay, stuff that you can do, co-op, bombing things. im gonna go check it out on youtube cause I remember playing the just cause demo before and it was pretty fun

It's most similar to Mercenaries 2, except better. Even the first Just Cause was better than Mercs 2 if you ask me, and those who have played JC2 say it's way better than the first. I'll pick it up in the next few days, I'm still busy with Final Fantasy 13 and Metro 2033.

Downloading the Just Cause 2 demo right now. Can you make really big explosions like you could in mercs 2? When you go to download the demo theres a really big explosion in the background, so I would think so.

I'm downloading the demo too. Though I'll probably get a console version since this kind of game I'd rather play relaxing on the couch with a large TV

I'll probably get the 360 version since I prefer Xbox Live to PSN. Though if I read somewhere that the PS3 version is somehow superior I'll get that one.

I imagine they would be similar, other than the controls, and 360 might get DLC first. ( can you get DLC on the PS3 ) Anyway my gamertag is Lead Hose if you ever want to play.

8.8 from IGN, pretty impressive scores so far.
As a side note, it turns out the PC version absolutely does not support windows XP. Not that anyone should be using XP anyway...

Got my gaming PC running again and just downloaded the demo, pure awesomeness. It's one of those "stupid fun" games. The gameworld is so large and vivid. I maxed out the settings and it runs flawlessly but I still think I'll get the 360 version so I can relax on the couch.

i picked up this game, it's really fun. i'm playing it on the ps3. it reminds me of grand theft auto, but alot better. so far i have about 4 hours of play time and nowhere near looking at being done with it. a quick question, has anybody found or know where there is a helicopter? i've been going around and unlocking areas and i think a chopper would be faster

Military bases tend to have helis, some tall building do too. Frankly it's easier just to cause some chaos and make them send one after you, and the use the grappling hook to hijack it.

cool, good tip. i have since found a few. plus i have found like 5-6 airports. i've been playing it most of the day. i've beat a few battles, and down right enjoying myself.
