Dream car Garage

1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys.
I am currently sitting in my 5 hour long college avionics class. I always find myself daydreaming about what my dream garage would contain to pass the timehttp://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...ular_smile.gif. I can imagine this thought has run through many of your heads atleast one time or another, so i thought i would ask...

So. Lets say its a 4 car garage...

Personal choices:
-BMW M3 (and have it look exactly like the one in the picture!)
-2011 mustang gt500
-Aston v12 vantage
-honda civic SI (mileage/ winter car)http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...unge_smile.gif

RE: Dream car Garage

"Realistic" dream cars or "lottery" dream cars? ha!

For realistic dream cars (that's a dream, but is a possibility for regular working forks..), I'd have:

A big sedan.. Audi S8 (not the upcoming one, but the one w/ Lambo-derived V10), just a little bit different.

A tow vehicle.. maybe a F-350, also can be used in the winter w/ 4x4, etc.

A 911 GT3 Cup car race car or a stripped street legal GT3 / RS

Instead of a 4th car, maybe a bunch of motorcycles.. !

RE: Dream car Garage

No lottery dream cars. Although weirdly for me my dream cars often include realistic cars, but right now any car is a dream car to mehttp://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...unge_smile.gifAnd i agree i would probably fill the 4th spot of the garage with a ski doo and an atv.

I would love to have some rarities. Maybe some old soviet cars, an old aircooled VW, some British stuff....

RE: Dream car Garage

Bentley Continental GT
Mercedes Benz SLS AMG
BMW M3
Land Rover Range Rover HSE

others as well, but those are at the top of my list. The latter 2 I could make a reality.

RE: Dream car Garage

First and foremost I'd restore my trusty old F150. It will be an excellent tow car, rough weather car, daily beater and fallback. It also lets me stock the other three spots in my garage with fun stuff.

Second car wouldn't even be street legal. I'd have a Lotus 79 sitting there. Ooooh, yes, given enough money you bet I'd have one of those sweet sounding monsters sitting there. I'd drive it pretty regularly too, blast around the block on a quiet sunday afternoon and let everyone know what a real car sounds like. Haha.

Third car would be a '65 Ford Galaxie sporting a SOHC 426 Ford, Tremec T-56, and some nice 17x9 rear and 17x7 front tires wrapped in sticky Z-rated Goodyears or Bridgestones. Power disc brakes and air con will also be retrofitted, because why not?

Fourth car would be an LS9 V8 powered R34 Skyline. Six speed manual, and if I could get away with it I'd even retain the AWD. Some may consider it sacrilege to put an American V8 in such a car, but to be perfectly honest, -beep- turbo lag! It's my horsepower, and I WANT IT NOW! Not only that but the LS9 will spit out 600HP far longer than a sufficiently boosted RB26DET ever will. 200,000 miles wouldn't be out of the question for the V8.

RE: Dream car Garage

I heard of some guy telling an R35 owner to put an LS in his car. And he's one of the best GT-R guys in the country, from what I hear...lol.

RE: Dream car Garage

I'd love to pop an LS9/T56 combo into an R35 but the computers will spazz out. Doubt they'll like the V8, and the definitely will disagree with the flappy paddle gearbox getting sold on ebay for 30 bucks.

But then I don't like the computers either, so they'd get discarded as well.

Lunchboxer 11-02-2011 05:04 PM

RE: Dream car Garage

Then why get a GT-R? (if you are gonna ditch the computer..) That's probably the strongest point of the car..

378 11-02-2011 05:07 PM

RE: Dream car Garage

Parts availability, mainly. Honestly, given the choice and with readily available parts, I'd go for the older R34 every single time, but there's also the simple fact that the R34 was never sold here, which means that parts are hard to come by. You can walk into most any parts store, and for certain any Nissan dealer, and obtain R35 parts, much easier.

I'd keep some of the computers, the radio, dashboard and creature comforts won't work otherwise. I'd just disable and/or remove the driver's aids.

Lol sounds like you have put a lot of thought into this like I havehttp://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...unge_smile.gifFor my shelby i would have it in a dark grey color, with red stripes. Then i'd through in a nice kenne bell supercharger, some big cams, and loose the cats in the exaust. Then top it off with some nice black BBS wheels, similar to the ones on the bimmer.

I must say i would be pretty surprised to pull up to a light beside an ls9 powered r34... that's a discarace lol. a non straight-6 powered skyline should be illegalhttp://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...ngry_smile.gif

Yea i know what a shamehttp://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f.../sad_smile.gifA car should always keep the same number cylinder count as it came with, out of pure heart-felt respect for the car. It needs to keep the same soul. Thats like taking out my perfectly healthy heart, and replacing it with one from a cow. It could work, but I would kinda prefer my stock hearthttp://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...unge_smile.gif

One thing I saw on youtube though was a duramax-powered corvette. Now That, I could live with.<br type="_moz" />

RE: Dream car Garage

We probably need to define Lottery Dream Cars by price somehow. A new Mercedes may only be a dream for me, but lots of people have them. So maybe it's just best to avoid "supercars". So I'm going to push the edge with my dream cars. Possibly affordable, but likely won't ever own one as money is best spent elsewhere.

However, I must admit to being fortunate to already have my dream car. As it was a kit I built myself, I was able to do it relatively cheaply, and I don't consider it a "Lottery Car". Here it is:

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC01181.jpg

I'd love to have a GT40 and a Cobra Daytona Coupe as well, but even kit versions are approaching the need for a Lottery win!

http://www.sportscardigest.com/wp-co...076-main-2.jpg

http://cdn0.caradvice.com.au/wp-cont...na-coupe_5.jpg

I suspect the old Aston Martin DB5 is reaching, or has reached that status by now, but it wasn't that many years ago when a "fixer-upper" could be had for about the same price as a new Camry". But I'd sure love to have one:

On a more realistic level, a Toyota FJ is on my list, but probably a used one as they're a bit pricey:

RE: Dream car Garage

Well i think lottery cars could have many definitions. Right now in our situation all of mine I listed would be "lottery cars", but not in the future. I think lottery cars would be more like:

Auburn Boattail
Ferrari Enzo
Porsche GT3
Ford Raptor
