the games and athletes i'm interested in
china itself, not so much

i mean every city/country wants to put on a good face
when the olympics come calling
but the extent that the chinese government has went to
in order to whitewash that countries problems
is farcical
really, fining their citizens a days pay
for spitting in public almost sounds like a joke
when many of the worlds athletes believe they may need
masks to compete in their events because the pollution is so bad

RE: 2008 Beijing Olympics

sad really that its all a big cover up. None of the Chinese people are happy as many homes have been wrecked and factorys closed for months.

My favorite part of the Olympics is, the following year when they strip the gold and send them to the BIG HOUSE, because of steroids, now that is priceless, lol

It takes much more then just practise, abnormal physical abilities, also plays a huge, huge part. He is 100 ft. tall and his feet are 14 in. in length, if it wasn't for that, he wouldn't be who he is today. At the least, I like him, it's not his fault he is 100 ft. tall, lol.

You can be a super amazing swimmer if you want, it doesn't bother me none, to bad the olympics doesn't pay money. My nephew is 5 ft. 8in. and he's 11 years old, you not the only one.

That's how much I practiced in college for swimming [&:] He must just spend 5 hours in the water a day, I am sure he exercises more than that throughout the course of a day.

yea did anyone see the thing about his diet???? holy crap!!! the man east 12000 calories!!! no i am not liying TWELVE THOUSAND CALARIES!!!!!! NFL linemen only eat on average 4000!!!!!

The Hedgehog 08-14-2008 07:07 PM

RE: 2008 Beijing Olympics

Yeah you burn about 2000 calories during a hard swimming workout per hour. So hours, 10,000 calories burned. So that leaves your normal 2,000 colorie diet leftover :D

RE: 2008 Beijing Olympics

i'm really not bothered about the Olympics this time, and not just because the UK are pants at most of the events, i think the situation in China has also helped put me off.
