Post *YOUR* car's 1/4 mile times

Hey Guys,

Just thought this would be an interesting topic for our car buffs.

Post your car, and 1/4 mile time. Estimate it if you have never run yet.
And expect to get called out if you post heavily optimistic times.

Please post the cars that you own yourself, your uncle's 2nd stepson does not count.

I will start out. I haven't been to the strips yet I am going in a month or so.

1994 Lincoln Mark VIII - Good for 14.8-14.9

Stock AP1 S2000 in the hands of a good driver is a mid 13s. I've never been to the strip, but then again that's not what the S is for.

My Toyota has a 200hps V6 (probably 160hps now, ha ha!), 4-speed auto, and covers the 1/4 miles in 16.8 seconds... (and it has seen the strip many times.. lol!)

And it is worth less than RCs right now.. :D

20 seconds?! As John Connor in Terminator 2 said when being chased by the semi.. "I can get out and run faster than that"

(joke) :D

I am sure your car is faster than 20 seconds, Lee!

Haha yeah, it pretty much smokes every other car out there.

Got another 1/4 mile drag time and its for my mums BMW X5 4.6, 1/4 mile in 15.1s at a speed of 93mph. That drag was done back in 2004 so a very decent time for a 4x4

they wont let me run it cause it marks its territory (leaks oil). not sure the timing system goes up that high anyway. stock bugs aint really that fast you know. to take a guess at the ET... ...high 16's...?

i need to fix my 1776cc engine and get better axles before i put it on the track. that should put me in the mid/low 14's on street tires, a muffler and pump gas

well this truck has a 15.128 with the 5.3, my truck has a 4.8, with a tune that is supposed to make my truck smoke a stock 5.3, so maybe a 15 flat?

First BS post of the thread.
300 HP at 5,000 lbs that's funny 15 flat. Oh I misread, 4.8.... even less HP [sm=confused.gif]

My car is 3900 lbs at 300 HP, same torque as your truck and I run 14.9. 1,000 pounds less, you will be running 17's

i never said that i actually have ran my truck, my truck has a custom ecu tune (by Wheatley)that removes the tq management and lets the throttle body go to wide open throttle when the peddle is at the floor. gm trucks have big time limiters. so i can call your post a bs post because you dont know anything about my truck other then engine tranny and weight, i was going by what that guy posted his 1/4 mile times down as.

and you have know idea what kind of power my truck puts down

The Hedgehog 04-01-2009 08:46 PM

RE: Post your car's 1/4 mile times

Yes I do, 280 HP and around 300 TQ. No way you can come close to 15 seconds, no matter what, "tune" and all.

Please list your mods that will drop the stock time down 2 seconds.

Krazy Chicken 04-01-2009 08:51 PM

RE: Post your car's 1/4 mile times

again i was going by that other silvy with the 5.3.

custom tune
air intake
throttle body spacer
true dual exhaust
headers
thats it.

It doesn't have all cars but it has a good amount and they are pretty legit.[link=http://www.albeedigital.com/supercoupe/articles/0-60times.html]This is how fast your car does the 1/4[/link]

1986 Chevrolet Celebrity CL EuroSport 10.7 17.9 seconds... sweet that is my first car
they don't have my current car.

2006 BMW M5 4.1 12.4 (R&T Feb '06) and that is the fastest car I have driven and man is that thing fun.

It's not bad as a general guide, but it's very subjective. Even height above sea level can affect QM times...

It's funny, they've been very generous with the 0-60 of the S2000 saying 5.5secs (only a race driver can do that, the quickest I can do is 5.9, but that is 0-100kmh which is 62.13mph), but then they've put the QM time almost a whole second too slow at 14.2. I've seen timesheets from stock AP1 S2Ks as low as 13.5, but of course it's all down to launch and driver. It's also strange that Car and Driver have made the AP2 (2004 onward, with 2.2 instead of 2.0 litres) as a faster QM time, at 14.0, when in reality, although the AP2 is fractionally quicker than the AP1, it needs an extra gear change before hitting the trap, so has always been slower in the QM than the AP1.

Yes, that website is just a ballpark I guess. have seen timeslips of 14.8-9 on my stock car and there it is saying up to 15.8 depending on the year

Yes, I am organizing a trip with a local performance shop that specializes in Mustangs. Best part is when I can afford it, they can drop in a brand new crate motor (4.6 DOHC) into my car for some added performance.

Thats pretty good considering most of the articles I have found online say low 14s.

according to that autoxman is still to slow about my truck, they dont have my truck, but they have an avalanche which weighs more then my truck and faster time then what autoxman said, just admit it my truck is faster then you think. my truck will run a 15 if this site is correct

Well that website says 2006 Subaru WRX STI 4.5 13.0 MT Dec '05) for my car. That is stock I suppose? I knew that my 0-60 was in the ballpark of 4.5 but never wondered about the 1/4. I would guess with my mods I'm in the mid to high 12's.

Being that I have never actually taken it to the strip I don't know an actual time for you guys. Also, like foxy said, take into consideration that this isn't at all what the STi is made for. :D
