What is the best car in the world?

I know that this can NOT really be answered, since there are so many new cars coming out and so many categories, and every has their own opinion. But I thought it would be fun to do a little (big, actually) poll and see what RCU users think is the best car.

I guess "best" could mean a lot of things, like coolest, fastest, best looking, best handling, best noise etc... But for this poll, "best" is just what car YOU think is the best out of any category. If this is successful, then maybe I will try it again for supercars, sports cars, off-roaders etc. The poll will be in different stages, the first part will be the first 100 cars that people suggest, then I will have people vote on those 100 for say, a week, then narrow it down to 50, repeat, 25, repeat, 15, repeat, 10 repeat and then overall results. Since I can't make an official poll with so many options, I will just have people post the full make/model and (optional) year. To make it so more people can enter a car, I will limit the amount of cars you can suggest to 2 per person. If you post more than 2, I will only count the first 2 cars you posted. This first stage will continue untill 100 cars have been suggested, then I will either just say closed, or if a mod is nice, they could lock this thread. Hopefully you like this idea, but if you don't please don't spam this with why you can't choose the best car and why this is a bad idea. it's just for fun, and I will most likely see some car that I've never heard of.

So to start off, I will say two cars, and please follow the format that I say them in, or close to the format. Every day I will edit this post and tell you of how many cars are left to suggest, and in later stages how much times is left. Oh, and I might clear this up, you CAN'T put two of the same car in your post, but you CAN vote for a car if somebody else already has.

32 CARS REMAINING!!!

Here is the car I chose, not from personal experience, but from what i've heard

Honda S2000

Not quite the end of the thread...

And those of you who can't choose 1 or 2, if this thread is going kinda slow, I might change the rules so you can choose more cars, but for now it will stay at 2 per person.

Haha another one of these threads, eh?
Should be interesting.

Oh and no Chevy vs Ford arguments, pleeease....

For me the "best" car doesn't really come down to badges or horsepower.
The car-sized trayback pickup truck has to be the best, most practical vehicle I can think of.

Plenty of space in the back for stuff, and still no bigger than a normal car, perfect for both city driving and the open road.

And if there's more than 2 of you, there is a family version available as well....

Well, of course I'm very happy you chose that car, since I own one, and in some ways I have to agree, even if I may be a bit biased. Enough power to have fun, well behaved when driven sensibly. Economical, when driven sensibly. Challenging when driven hard. Soft top folds down in seconds and doesn't negate use of the trunk, which is quite spacious for a roadster, I can get a weeks shopping in it. It's an absolutely riot in the corners, looks good and always will, timeless body. 9000rpm redline, sound to die for (in a few days I'm getting a new exhaust (J's Racing Titanium), will post a sound clip ;)), reasonable cost, excellent reliability, good resale value, future classic, great aftermarket, they aren't 'everywhere' (not in europe anyway), and finally... the girls love em.

Did I forget anything? Oh yeh, always top 5 in roadster surveys throughout it's incredible ten year life cycle (virtually unchanged as a model), for reliability (top two for 7 of it's 10 production years), fun factor, best engine and value for money.

Here's a pic of my baby. :)

Best car ever, for me, I think the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, NON Reventon kitted.

Airbus 9e, as said in the first post, I will only count the first two, so the Charger and the, but, if after about a week, there hasn't been very many replies I will change it so you can suggest more, and I will count the Cobra too.

Haha yeah they are basically a car cut in half with a tray.
But you can get them without the alloy tray if you want, but they're not as practical.
I used to have one with the full body side, or "style side" as they call them here, and it was useless - not enough space.
A lot of people (young guys) here in OZ buy them with big V8's and never even take the lid off the back...
It's all for show.

RE: What is the best car in the world?

To me, I think it is hard to define what's "THE" best.. as we can see already that people like different kind of stuff.. some want the most practical, some want the fastest, some want to be able to go over stuff, most economical, etc, etc.

To me, when I was buying my car, I wanted something that would trigger an emotional response.. something that when you walk over it, your heart would skip a beat.. something that would get your blood going.. !

Anyway, just saying that would be my criteria.. if I have unlimited budget, I'd probably rock one of these..

Hee.. there's quite a bit more C-GT out there compare to the GT-1.. not to mentioned that the C-GT is legally sold in US.. so the chance of me actually owning it is a lot higher than the GT-1..

Not like the chance of me actually owing it is actually high.. (rather, next to 0.. ha!) but still, high-ER... :D
