anybody have snakes ?
 

just wondering if im the only one that likes snakes...

i have a 2 year old cornsnake, hes about 4-1/2 to 5 feet long, he eats 2-3 aldult mouses a week and he have a preference to drown the mice to kill it... heres a pic ...

Thats sweet! My parents are 100% snake haters...... I have asked but they said 'when you move out'.... I want a corn snake also. BTW that is one BEAUTIFUL snake.

I'd have to say that the only snakes I have had around me are the bad ones. Rattlesnakes, cottonmouths, coralsnakes, and several other species of poisnous ones.

From my conditioning to keep away from all snakes, I'd have to say I am not necessarily a100% snake lover, but I do there are some harmless snakes so I am not a 100% snake hater either.

It's just someoen will have to point out if the snake is harmless before I will approach it.

and savagejim, i understand your little fear because there are poisnous species around where you live, my girlfriend didnt like snakes at all when i bought it but i told her its either 2 scorpions or a snake... she said ok for the snake :D

the specie i have is a cornsnake and they are known to be the best with humans, they are calm and kinda like human contact (but not when they are hungry!)

I never thought about having a snake as a pet, might be interesting though. They don't creep me out or scare me (for the most part), but I do tend to prefer furry and cuddly animals.

I have a 2 y/o ball python. She eats 2 rat pups every weeks. Dont have a pic off hand though. But all BP's look pretty much the same lol

my cat always watch my snake, i wonder how the cat would react if the snake would come out of his terrarium
by the way, i named my snake Kimbo Slice (if you dont know who this is check it on youtube)

I have a 10 y/o ball python.  She is about 6 foot or so.  Very healthy, she eats a rat about every other month or so.

Ball pythons: I saw some at the pet store the other day. I saw kids handling one, so I asked the pet store clerk if I can have a turn also.

I was surprised how docile the snake was; it dint make any sudden movements like a striking fanged snake would nor did it coil and put its neck into the "S" position to attempt to strike. It was a very slow moving animal, and I must say it was very calming to hold it.

I have other reptiles as pets and I have had scaled reptiles too (lizards, geckos, etc.). The ball python felt no different, well its belly scales felt very smooth.

i have a lot of snakes and kind of a reptile nut. my big ones i like are ball pythons jungle carpet pythons and boa's. i have had luck breeding my boas and jungles also kings and corns. I also have a few geckos and a pair of bearded dragons. if your really just getting into it good luck and have fun. try a reptile show. I think the best reptile web site is kingsnake.com

why actually i got a 1.2year old Boa. she is about 4ft2. she unfortunately lost 70%of her tail due to a bad shed, so she'd be 4ft6.
i dont have any recent photo's and she just ate yesterday and i dont want her to regurge[:'(]

but here are her "baby" photos at 4weeks
is so calm and friendly, have never seen any aggression

nice !
i like the colors of boas and pythons, its like gold, but i dont like their heads.
they look like they have cheeks (like the bad guy in Saw movies)

but still you got a nice snake ! show us some recent pics !

i was talking about snakes with one of my friend and he told me boas can get up to 10-12ft ! is this true ?

yes they do. I will take some pics today and load them for ya. I have a small reptile room for my critters. my female is about 10ft or so and has incredible strength. my male is a little dude.
