Castor bean plant

Just thought I would post a few pics on a few forums of my wife's castor bean plants. Maybe this should be in the fuel section, but I thought there is more exposure here. They look fairly nice I thought. They grow up to about 10 feet around here in the the cold Canadian climate if they get enough water. It is the end of July, and these are about 1/2 grown. Pretty much the only hobby we have in common. Don't need any castor synthetic wars, but discussion is great. These may be ornamental? The beans are about the size of kidney beans.

Yup. The beans are harmless unless eaten. I entertained the idea of growing some castor beans myself, but unless you grow a whole field of the stuff, you'd never get enough oil to make growing them for anything other than ornamental reasons worthwhile. It's interesting to know what the plant and beans look like though. A lot of people use castor oil in making soaps and such.
