I ride probably the most "vanilla" bike listed so far - a '98 Suzuki GS500E. I bought it six years ago after taking the MSF course, figuring I'd thrash it for a year and then upgrade. Then came the house and the wife. Once I got the expenses under control I started thinking about a new bike again......until my daughter was born. Paying daycare expenses took the wind out of my sails trying to figure out how much bike I could afford. *Sigh* Oh well, at least the Suzuki's running nicely again on a fresh carb rebuild. Besides, I'm just happy to be on two wheels and the insurance is cheap!

I ride a Harley Dyna Low Rider. It's been pimped. my passion is my YZ 450F my 5 kids all have yamahammers. if i'm not jacking with my heli we're at the dirt track. i race the OCCRA, curcuit here in Oklahoma. I'm the worlds biggest Valentino Rossi fan, in moto gp and got the chance to see him race in Laguna Seca last year, it was awesome. I got the rossi sun face logo tatooed on my leg while we were on Haight Ashbury in San Fran. Laguna was so sweet. 200 mph handle bar to handle bar kicks nascar in the teeth.

This is what I ride, an '06 Yamaha Roadstar Midnight Silverado. I fly first thing in the morning then I ride after that. If I had to choose between the two it would be real tough! I'd probbly go with airplanes because I can build in the winter.[8D]

RE: Motorcycles
Thought I would add my info here.Been rideing for a little more than 50 yrs.My first bike was a 1950 James 150cc.Next came a 42 Harley 45 ci,then another 42 Harley. After that came a 48 knuclehead,The Herleys were all springer susp. it was a pretty rough ride, but I loved every minute of it.The next two were also hogs,a 52 and 57 panheads. The 57 was the last Harley. All but the James were hand bangers. In 1982 I discoversd Honda Goldwing, and haven't looked back.
Currently the main ride is a 2000 Vakrye and an 02 VTX.
I still ride most every day untill the roads get iced over.Next to sex,it's the most fun you can have without laughing.

I've ridden since I was 16. 305 Honda Scrambler, (2) '70 750 Honda inline 4s, 82 V45 Honda, 84 V65 Honda, 85 V65 Honda, 92 HD Sturgis, 04 Yamaha Road Star. It's always a toss up about what to do on a free day ride or fly.

Looks pretty nice. Carbs look like they were from a later model though.

Carbs and the motor are bone stock, other than jets.

I have an 03 TL1000R for the street and 99 GSXR600 (Yoshimura spec Supersport) that I do track days with. I can't wait till it gets warm again to start wearing out some tires!!

SNOW!! have you lost your mind? I can't stand to ride in the cold....below 50 and I'm out! That KTM looks like the 4X4 of motorcycles. How is it on the trails?

RE: Motorcycles
Love to ride, Had dirt bikes and street bikes since I was 12. Got rid of all my dirt bikes when I got married in 1990. Recently got rid of the last of my old faithfulls except one. Kept the old 82 Honda 200 twinstar cause it was my first street bike and my daughter wants to ride it. Got rid of my 82' Yamaha 550 vision, 84' Honda Ascott Vt500, 82' CB 750 custom, 86' 450 Rebel, 88' 900 Kawasaki, 87 V65 Magna. Right now I'm riding a friend's 800 Vulcan while he's off in the N. Gaurd and often borrow another friend's 1800 Goldwing when me and wife want to get away. Looking to get our own Goldwing sometime this summer! Know of any good deals on one let me know!

RE: Motorcycles
Hi MustMoto!....Small/World, My oldest son (Eddie Warren) was on the "Kawasaki Pro Motocross Team" back in the mid 80's (Jeff Ward era)....I myself worked for "Harley Davidson" motor/co. Miwaukee (R&D) for awhile in the early 60's (before most of you/guys were born!)...I also built all of the "Flat/Track" equipment for the late Bart Markel (same era...you may have to resource the history/books to relate...hehe!)-In some ways this airplane thing is like the bikes...."Keep the rubber/side down!"....

RE: Motorcycles
I see this thread wound up back on top......I found a pic of my "vanilla" bike ('98 Suzuki GS500) as posted on another forum in a 'motorcycle tag' discussion:
and I finally broke down and 'upgraded' to a new bike - brand spankin' new Yamaha WR250R. Just picked it up two weekends ago, and waiting for some rain to wash away a bit of the road salt so I don't subject my new baby to corrosion:
