Global warming - - - what a joke!!!!!
 

This is what it is doing outside right now in Seattle (6:30pm Wed). It is supposed to last the next three or four days. Normally I am out in the shop by the first of March without the 85,000 BTU heater going. But this is ridiculous. Pauxetany Phil was right. Six more weeks of winter.

It's probably connected to the laser drills, UV light to set fillings and such by all the Dentists in the world. Now turn on the heater and get to building!!

I quit all that three years ago so I could go out in the shop and build and then go fly. Hadn't counted on being more cold sensitive as I've gotten older. Maybe when I start getting my Social Security in the next couple of months, I can afford more propane for the heater. But with all this global warming crap driving the cost of propane up, I may not be able to afford that, either. I just may have to move to a warmer climate. I wouldn't know how to act if I could fly all the time.

I have the same view as you do Roy, and I just finished a project and am itching to fly it. Oh well, maybe next month.

Hopefully this is the last of our winter and then we can get back to doing some serious flying. Usually it warms up enough that Home Depot starts selling off their 5 gal kerosene cans for $19. But they have not started yet. Can't wait for spring to finally get here.

Global warming doesn't mean that everything just gets hot. It causes changes in normal weather patterns so you may get colder weather than normal as well as warmer than normal weather later.
Now doesn't that make you feel better?[8D]

I forgot about that. Now that is a great suggestion. Normally we only use it when the grandkids come over. I may have to crank that baby up to get warm.

It has been only 3 hours since I took the first photos but we have been getting a little over an inch an hour and it is still going strong. I know that there are a lot of places in the world that get a lot more, but this is very unusual for Seattle, especially in the Spring. I was born in Seattle and remember the winter of 1953 when there was a couple of feet of snow on the ground during one winter. But nothing like that since.

Having spent 31 years in the military, we have spent a lot of time living around the world. We lived in Grand Forks, North Dakota and snow was expected. We also have lived in St Louis and snow was expected there also. I did a tour in Misawa, Japan and the first winter we were there it snowed over 250". The Sapporo Ice Festival that year was exceptional. I have done tours in North Africa, Southern Spain, Florida, Texas, Central California and even spent a couple of years living in San Diego. Now that I think about it, I really enjoyed the warmer climates. I just might talk myself into moving South, yet.

It doesn't look all that bad out there....... I just blew 8 inches of heavy wet stuff out of my drive, and there is more coming tomorrow. But, it's Minnesota so we are used to this. Not that we like it.

Well here in Madison, WI we have received over 100" of snow this Winter. That's more than double the ave !

That's true in UK. My daughter who lives in Florida tells me that all US tax payers (and she is one) will be getting a several hundred dollar tax rebate this year.

Not all US taxpayers will be getting a check. The ones who paid the most will get nothing. Some who paid nothing will still get a check. Showly but surely our Republic has turned into a Socialist state whose primary objective is nothing more than the redistribution of wealth....[:@]

How Much Will You Get?
Qualifying single filers (AGI less than $75,000) will get rebates of up to $600. Qualifying couples (AGI less than $150,000) will get rebates of up to $1,200, plus $300 per dependent child, with no maximum on the number of eligible children.

Persons who owe no income taxes, but earned at least $3,000 in income from Social Security and veterans disability will get rebate checks of $300 for individuals and $600 for couples.

I thought all the jet guys made more then $150,000! So looks like we get NOTHING.

My favorite part is they call it a REBATE - how is it that people who paid NOTHING get a REBATE? [:@]
