Default hybrid engine mounting holes???

hi,

i'm wondering what is the best way to drill the engine mounting holes? it's going to be a DA50. i have the engine installed on another plane and don't want to remove it.
could i take the DA50 template and stick it to the firewall in the proper location and drill the holes according to that? then, before covering i'll fit the engine and the muffler and make sure it all fits.

this is where i'm at and this build has been a real pleasure so far.

Default RE: hybrid engine mounting holes???

You can either go through the math to compute the offset to the left (assuming you plan to put right thrust in the engine mount itself), or you can cheat like I did and simple suspend the fuselage standing on its tail and position the engine so the prop center is centered in the opening and them mark the holes. That's the old KY boy method!
