Extended Flying Time
When I ordered a replacement battery for my little helicopter, I also ordered what I thought were extras about the same size with a 6 port charger. They turned out to be too large, and for $25.00 , I figured the hassle to return them wasn`t worth it. I figured out that I could adapt my little Horizon Sport Cub to use these, and with a little soldering and a rubber band, I can now fly the little cub for at least 20 minutes now. That's all the time I put on the transmitter but I`ll bet it could go at least 30. Also the connector on the battery has little polarity tabs. These need to be trimmed to fit it the standard style connector that I soldered on to the planes harness.

Very interesting. I have used a rubber band on my sport cub s, before I got new Velcro cause batteries would come back hanging down like airplane nuts under th wheel.
nice pictures too.
Is the motor handling the longer run times okay?
How does the cg feel?

Hi CFinn,
The motor seems to hold up fine. I fly with the throttle just over 1/2 most of the time to not climb too much. A little more nose heavy but it still flies good. I know the stated flight time is a little hard to believe, but honestly, I can fly around the back yard for at least 20 minutes on one battery.
