Well, she flew!! It was dark and by road light, but still went ahead as it was driving me nuts, it seemed to be tail heavy as I needed full down trim to keep it going level, moved batt a little, seemed to help have to keep trying,
It was a tad on the windy side yet, as it was getting blown all over the place, but I made about 5-6 short flights, the longest probably 45sec to 1 min. nothing long, but didnt want to press my luck with the wind and being dark and all.

So far pretty happy,

John,

When I fisrt flew my TM it was also tail heavy..... its a good thing the TM is so forgiving and stable !!! Tail heavy planes usually only fly once. Its a much better idea to fly a little nose heavy but perhaps you like me had a hard time determining the CG on the TM.

Enjoy

John:
Before you build the Zero call up www.ezonemag.com and read
some building tips on the plane. Just finished mine yesterday. Now can't wait for their P-51. Great looking scale plane.

On the T/M try getting into a school gym at nite to fly. Lots of fun
in no wind and it's dark and rainy outside

John:
I called up that video you mentioned.
Found out it was made in Taiwan and the pilot used a slimer.
That explains why it was so fast. The 300C is fast, but not like
that one. Don't try a trim flight at nite with this one !!

The fellow that had the video on his post didn't say what size glow engine was used. Maybe a .15 or .20 ?

Default Tiger Moth ready for maiden!

Just finished My Moth, flys great but I have some complaints about the instructions. The instructions for setting up the top wing so that it maintains proper dihedral was very poor or non existant. I wound up making two wooden spars with dihedral built into them and gluing them to the underside of the upper wing--worked out well. I also made the interplane struts from balsa (just copied the plastic ones by overlaying the balsa strip on them and gluing them up). After the fifth flight the motor tended to slide out of the mounting stick but hopefully solved that by coating the square wooden mounting stick with Titebond, let it dry, then reinserted the motor assembly. Seems that that increased the friction enough to hold it in place. I'm using a 7 cell, 300MAH NiMh and am getting about 10 minute flights. Not enough power to loop from level flight though. I also had to increase the rudder throw to get reasonable response.
