Default Going brushless for a TM 400 and a PT-17? Problems???

I bought a Himax 2025 with the offset gearbox for my GWS Pt-17 nad TM 400. They both came with the GWS 400 motor. With the stock 3mm shaft and the 3mm hub on the Himax, the assembly is to short to get it out of the cowl( about 1/2 inch) on both planes. So I bought the 3mm threaded shaft for the Himax gear box only to find out that it is long enough... But... That's the size for a 300 motor. It has to small a diameter for GWS 10-6 or larger props. The stock shaft on the GWS 400 gearbox is like 4mm. Does anybody make a longer 3mm shaft? Or do I have to use the stock GWS 400 gearbox? Do GWS 2mm pinion gears fit the 2025 Himax brushless motor shaft? It gets old buying parts that are hit and miss...LOL... Anybody got any answers to save me alot of trips to the hobby store... THANX Scott
