:tired:
15 hours in, and about a third done. I'm scratch building a 1/8 scale of a 70's ultralight. I found the plans (for a 1/4-scale version) in an old "Model Builder" magazine. Bare bones, but including the Rx and servos it weighs 77gms.

Add about 2/3 oz for covering, 1 1/2 oz for motor and a couple for a Battery. Throw in a little for control rods, flying wires etc. and it should come in around 8 1/2 oz.

At 200+ sq. in it comes in around 6 oz a sq. ft. What do you think, will it fly? And on what? I've ordered a GWS IPS-2 and an EDP-100c. Both give around 4oz of thrust so I think it'll be fine.

I just noticed that the photo didn't get attached. If you would like to see photos of my DD click on "gallery". Under Personal albums click on "rahtware".

Please understand that this is a work in progress, and that I hope I won't be posting any "crash" photos.

She's done!

Still working out the bugs, but on a test "taxi", in the street in front of my house, she jumped off the ground and was about 6 feet up before I could cut the power.

Now that I know that she has enough power to get off the ground, I am making the final adjustments and plan on taking her to the local strip on Sunday.

Hope to have some flight photos soon.

I guess I should add that my DD came in just under 7 oz. for a WL of less than 5 oz. per sq. ft.

Here is a picture with my Slow Stick (1lb. 5/8 oz.).
