TM Construction errors!!!
Aaaaa! I've really messed up this plane! First, I CUT the top wing into halves... i epoxied them back. Then i messed the wing joint (the yellow plastic thing) up... and i dont know what to do with it. then the cowl... its almost the same as the wing joint, i cut it...
:stupid: :stupid: :stupid: Then the tailskid... ive cut it soooo badly that it is not a round... this is a big problem... HOW do i fix that??? The wheel wire is terrible.... they BEND under load!!! the wheels look flimsy, and easily destroyed. :S |
TM Construction errors!!!
this is sad news for you... I just finished my moth last night... and I am proud to say it came out beautiful. You have to have a gentle hand with this bird in the building process.... she is very fragile... btw.. that plastic thing you have no idea where it goes, gets glued to the top of the lower wing ;) the tail skid issue, might just throw it away all together and glue in a left over control rod as a prop to support the tail.... its not like it has a real purpose in life except to protect the tail while on the ground... you could also use a popsicle stick here too... check out www.tigermothsquadron.com for more tips too.... hope this helps..

Go to E-Zone Group Discussion, to the parkflyers section and do a search for the Tiger Moth, all the info you need and mods you can do including building tips are all there waiting for you, by the way you can buy new parts for any part on the Moth inc. the wings, so if you messed something up replace it and start over, all is not lost, think of it as a lesson well learned, when you start building it again just take it slow and research each phase of the construction before you do it and you will be OK.
Your not alone, alot of people try to hurry the building to get in the air faster, and the building instructions though pretty good are not as clear as they could be, It says in the book that you should be able to complete the project in about four hours or one evening, It took me almost a week but I did alot of mods and really took my time and it paid off, you will end up with a great flying plane. Good luck, EF |
