Don't discount li-po batteries! A 7.4 volt 1200 mah battery will be much smaller and weigh less than a ni-cd or nimh of similar capacity. I will give you unbelievable flight times!

RE: Tiny-X is built!

Your Tiny-X is beautiful. I am a first time pilot. I started with the FMS simulator and as soon as the weather cleared I tried my Slowstick. The simulator is close enough to help teach you to use small stick movements and stall recovery. I have many flights on my Slowstick now and I am still using all the original foam. Add a little packing tape:) I even fly in my front yard. Way too many trees but it sure is exciting!

A few tips I wish I had known:
1) Bring lots of props (1180) my first day I broke 4 props (the prop saver really saves the drive shaft more than the prop)
2) If you fly over pavement buy motor mounts and gears (I've broken 3 so far)
3) I finally settled on 3.5 in from the leading edge for my CG
4) Don't worry about crashing. Just bring packing tape. You'll be back in the air in 2 minutes.

I added a plastic bomb release. Lots of fun! I can loop at will. I can even fly inverted for short periods.

I still like my slow stick a lot but I'm ready for alierons. I have seen all the web mods for slowstick alierons and I'm considering it. But now that I've seen your Tiny-X maybe I'll go that way.
