BLONDIE P-51D Musrang 1.2m maiden flying session

Enjoyed my maiden flight operations yesterday with this superb model of what is generally agreed to be the greatest fighter plane in history. I reinforced the wheel wells and the bottom of the fuselage with clear plastic packing tape, and used carbon fiber rods angled back in front of aileron servos to make hand launch and belly landings practical over fields that not usable for ROG landings. Hand launching is as easy as that of the GUNFIGHTER. I do love the effect of those huge flaps on landing, which is a piece of cake with this machine.

The most exciting experiences with the P-51 Mustang can be found on the GUNFIGHTER thread. Please notice the conversation with "Mr. Right Stuff" Army Air Force Ace Chuck Yeager on the "cut and pasted"
information that inspired my statement about what FIGHTERS inspire.

Enjoy. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped.../P51-1_300.jpg

The GUNFIGHTER continues to be my first to fly demonstrator followed by my "bomb dropping, night flying capability Zero." I hope to learn about the larger percentage of flap area on the P-51 than is normally seen on most fighters. The interesting thing about my "Dallas Doll" P-51 is the big flaps can really slow the plane down nicely for landings, etc. My theory at the moment is that the "high speed airfoil" is not as efficient for landings so larger flaps makes up the difference.

Please enjoy the included post on Mr. Right Stuff Chuck Yeager's Facebook News Feed.

Richard Porter This is an updated version of my original post and priceless response from my greatest fighter/test pilot hero.

There are some interesting claims about F-86s and even a Me 262 breaking the "sound barrier" (?) before Chuck Yeager's historic rocket powered flight but my fighter pilot hero "Mr. Right Stuff Chuck Yeager" gets the confirmed credit for being first.

His original statement, "Combat is the ultimate flying experience" inspired the statement that now works very well with Google search to bring up my fighter plane posts - "FIGHTERS - AVIATION'S ULTIMATE CALL TO GLORY, HONOR, AND IMMORTALITY." I am convinced that the secret of his success is proof that Providence has a very special place for him in history.
