GWS E Starter

Ok at first I thought I was an experianced pilot. Its been 10 years so the stick is dusty and my GWS Formosa is very unforgiving on a pilot that has been out of the hobby a while. Can someone tell me if the e starter is easier to fly. I want something with ailrons but one that does not fly like a pattern plane like the formosa does.

Thanks,
Scott

I believe the E Starter flies very similar to a standard 4ch trainer, just a bit smaller.

RE: GWS E Starter

I just got the E-starter and it is now finished. I am waiting for a calm day to fly it. I will post info on my maiden flight. It will be my first time flying with ailerons. I have been flying Aerobird Challengers. Any tips on aileron flight would be appreciated.

It does look like a small version of a gas aileron trainer. I am very impressed with it so far. I did do a test throw in front of my house. It flew straight as an arrow and the rudder and lift controls seemed very responsive for the short distance it flew. I am happy because i put a lot of packaging tape and reinforcements on it. I did not know what kind of affect it would have on it. Oh yeah, the engin seems real fast too. I think it is faster than my Aerobird.

Yes in stock trim the e-starter is a great trainer. Can fly slow and speeds up quite well. The roll rate with the ailerons is super slow so if you decide to try to roll it make sure you have plenty of altitude. The stock power set up is very good. It will also handle a little wind better than most of the gws birds. Would I buy another one? Yes! If you get one do a search and look at the building tips because there are a few week spots on the airframe, mainly the tail section. Good Luck.
