RCU Forums - P-51D almost done

After destroying my GWS p-51 as a novice pilot, I then learned to fly on a couple of trainers. I got a thirst for another warbird but I wanted a balsa model of about the same dimensions as the GWS P-51. Unforunately, I could not find a balsa kit with a truly scale wing and a wingspan of around 32 inches or so. I would have had to buy one of the larger glow models for that. I decided to copy my GWS P-51 dimensions and build it myself out of wood. Its a little ugly but hey, It actually looks like it may have been in a battle over Germany! I even installed retracts. I need to finish the trim and a Himaxx 2025-5300 brushless is in the mail. Should fly straight up. Here are some pics.
