One of the best mods is to replace the awful screws (3-off) that are supplied to mount/adjust the motor. Use cap head (Allen key) screws instead, it makes adjustment so much easier. Also, if you balance the plane as per instructions and take time to get the motor thrustline sorted, you will have a sweet flying bird!:D

...i'll second that! - truly a sweet flying little "jet"!...100mph plus!...

...i carefully took a dremel & cut a deeper & wider slot in the motor mount screws...so i could use a larger screw driver and not strip them out...got them to work ok...

...i replaced the flaperon linkages with larger gauge music wire - too much flex in those included in the kit - also, i added magnets to hold the canopy down - the plastic hold-downs are questionable...

Strengthen the elevons with tape as landing in long grass can catch the elevon push rod fixing and rip the elevon off. Ask me how I know :)

thanks guys

what about painting is it the same as the stryker acrylic paint and how well does it take to paint ?? do you need to prep the surface ie light sanding

thanks in advance MAXAMUS ......

I've not painted mine so can't comment but the foam looks very similar to Stryker foam. You may remember a while pack that I was painting my Stryker with JapLac paint from B&Q, well after much flying I have had absolutely none of that paint flake off at all. It flexes without cracking as well! May be worth a try on the FJ.
Let me know how well the Himax set-up works as I will be replacing my battered FJ next month.

Multiplex market their own Elapor primer, surprise surprise! It comes in a tin and is applied with a sponge over the areas to be painted. I have sucsessfuly used this in conjunction with Tamiya acrylic model car paint (for Lexan bodies), but there are other suitable paints such as Krylon that can be used.

I'll be getting this plane soon, Ive saved almost enough and should have it within two weeks. At first I'll be running the parts out of my crashed C Stryker, except for different servo's, HS81's. My fifteenth is coming up soon so with the money I get from it I will get a 4 cell, 2200 mah 20c lipo and a 40-55 amps speedie. At first I will be running the 4 cells with the stock stryker motor, (with a down-graded propeller) but later I will upgrade to larger motor, Im still working out which one. maybe a HET 4W or mega 16/15.4, Im aiming for 100mph. The motors are an awful lot though, Im hoping to achieve some decent speed with the stock stryker motor itself.

Just finished my FunJet, can't wait to maiden it this weekend. I just got a JR 9303 2.4ghz radio. I have programmed the model using the DELTA Wing configuration.
The problem is that Multiplex wants different throws on the elevators and airlerons. Can't seem to do this. Any thoughts........I'm sure it can be done, but I have no idea.
Thx,
PhilR
