Yard Bee ARF Questions
Hi All: Just bought the Clancy Yard Bee ARF. I've read that it is underpowered with the stock setup. I've got a new Electrifly T-280GD ESC Motor System with 4.1:1 Gearbox and 10 x 4.7 Slow Flyer Prop. Would this be a better choice for the Bee? If not, any suggestions. I built and flew a Lazy Bee many years ago with a .15 Glow OS. Thought this would be a nice change. Any hints or suggestions would be appreciated. |
RE: Yard Bee ARF Questions
Hello! That set up will work fine. I have a Speed 400 direct drive set up that i currently fly in mine! The Speed 400 really brought the lil' bird alive!

ORIGINAL: tmackel I'll report right after my maiden. -Ted I just assembled my second electric park flyer, a Yard Bee. I used the stock power system. I hope it will fly with that! |
RE: Yard Bee ARF Questions
I had a yard bee before, but with the stock power system, it could barely keep in the air. A small 300 size direct drive motor shuld do nicely, or a small brushless motor, with a 9 inch prop. I don't think a 10 inch prop would fit on, without hitting the ground.

RE: Yard Bee ARF Questions
I tried to maiden mine this morning. It has a crazy amount of up-thrust as built and I decided to leave it that way because apparently that was how it was designed to be.
Unflyable. So I will rearrange the engine thrust angle and try again another day. BTW, the CG is on the money. |
