The Ultimate EastyStar Brushless Combo Thread

Welcome To The Ultimate EasyStar Brushless Combo Thread On RCUniverse.com

So It's been awhile since the Multiplex EasyStar came out. You flew it stock and loved it and now after saving enough money, you are ready to take that GIANT step and upgrade your speed 400 to a brushless combo and take on those stronger winds and gain much higher altitudes, maybe you just like to take aerial photography or just sail it around in the high thermals on a lazy afternoon day? Whatever it may be you will know a brushless combo will deliver enough confidence for your plane to return back without problem. Already have a combo? What Is Your Brushless Combo Set-Up For The Easy? This thread is to gain a census about what everyone is using and how they like it. This will also help new and old EasyStar fans transform into a brushless combo better.[8D]

Hey Mate,

M info is as below...

MOTOR - Himark (Himax) 2000KV Brushless Inrunner

ESC - Motrofly 30A Esc

BATTERY - Zippy 2200mA LiPo

BATTERY TIME - Depending how hard I push I could probably keep her up for an hour.

PROP - 7X5 prop cut down to clear the boom and balanced.

RX - Spektrum AR6200

I don't know its speed but it has constant vertical. I have had to extend the wing spar as far as possible as I am in fear of tearing the wings off.

I use it for both having a great time and aerial photography. Am looking at FPV to. You might get a kick out of this vid I put together. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6hcc_zbuHw

Cheers

Brushless Motor Type/Name: Himax 2815 2000kv inrunner

ESC Name & Amps: E-watts 25A

Battery: Fightpower EVO25 11.1V 2200mAh

Charger/Brand: Swallow 2 Advance AC/DC charger

Minutes Battery Lasts: Easily up to 30 minutes, maybe more

Prop Type/Size: APC 6x4E

Receiver Name: Spektrum AR6000

Top Wind Speed (MPH) combo can fly in: Have flown in 25knot winds, don't know what gusts were but it handled the wind fine.

Motor Pod/Nacelle - On/Off/Custom: Motor is identical in dimensions to the original speed 400 so i mounted mine where the stock motor would go, very simple.

Using it for: (ex. FPV/Aerial photos/Leisure/Sailing/Speed?): Used it to learn to fly and land well, I haven't crashed since buying this plane over 6 months ago.

Comments about your Brushless EZ w/ combo: Plane will take off from the grass despite the lack of landing gear. Long run times, easy to install, rock solid.

Hiya guys - most of you know me, you Aussies!!! My specs are different to the Aussie guys, I went to an Outrunner, its easy. Take an old 400 brushed, strip out the insides (magnets everything etc) and just leeve the casing. Bolt an outrunner to the end of the casing (drilling might be needed) and you can then insert the 400 casing where it should be but with an outrunner attached. Why? Half 1/4 of the price of the Himark, lighter (maybe), easily changed by undoing 2 grub screws and can use o/runners up to 300+W.
Spec....Motor on mine E-Max 125W 2000+ 2815 o/runner
25A esc, cut-down prop like Mongs, 9grm TPro servos, any 3S lipo from 1300 to 2000+, enlarged rudder attachment.

Basically, I'm a tightwad, as Mong will testify.....Byeeee....
