Top 5 Electric Warbirds?? Lets rank them

Lets hear your opinion on your choice for the top 5 electric warbirds.
RTF, ARF, KIT, PNP whatever.
GO..................

The best and the funest rtf has to be the parkzone T-28, That's my two cent's

Parkzone spitfire is probably the best RTF in it's size.

Pros:

Fairly cheap
Good power
Take minutes to put together
Flys awsome
Simple and cheap to repair
Looks great in the air
Can do rolls and loops

Cons:
Damn transmitter with that throttle slider
Sometime hard to hand launch
No rudder ( although this is good for beginners )
No landing gear ( i don't really mind that )

Overall a great plane for the park

Another vote for T-28!....but, I really like my PKZ Spitfire as well, I just don't fly it nearly as often as the T-28.

PKZ spit is def. up there. I recently changed the electronics in mine and added a rudder, now it is my favorite plane to fly

Easy: unfortunately not available anymore: the Eflite P-40 Thunderbold...cheap, can be assembled quickly, with a good radio and a brushless Park 480 motor, this is the most fun and easy to fly bird you can (no longer) get...

Mine is still in excellent shape and I'm saving it as much as possible.

Cheers

you mean the p-47. WHEN THEY STOP MAKING IT?!?!?!:( This is sad news to me. always wanted one but always had other projects in the way.

I don't own the T28 but I love my spit. I think the Corsair will find me at Christmas time though!

The world models corsair and zero builtup and pretty scale. I cant speak of the zero first hand but the corsair is light and strong. Im not such a fan of foam.

The Electrfly WWI series planes have to be at the top of this list. The workmanship on them is first-rate, they go together very easily and they fly great (and very scale)! I have the SE5a and the DR1. They also have a Fokker DVII and are releasing a SPAD XIII. They are built -up balsa planes with covering, about 1/10th scale. I have a Parkzone Mustang and lots of other electric foamies, and these Electrifly balsa planes are my hands-down favorites. These planes fly very well in wind, unlike most foam planes. They hand-launch like a dream (unlike my Parkzone Mustang) or on short grass do amazingly scale takeoffs and landings.

Parkzone p-51 is an EXTREMELY diffrent plane to plaunch and to fly compared to the pz spit. or t-28

Parkzone FW-190 gets my vote. Not too big of a fan of slide throttle but you get used to it.

what about some of the alphas or hyperions. Ive never had any so cant say just trying to get some diversity.

The Parkzone Spitfire Mk2!
Beacourse i've always loved Spits(in movies and the last six or so years in flight sims).
It gives me the option to fight the Battle of Britain myself(ourselves...) using the SCM.
The only thing on our wishlist is a Bf109 we can use as it's oponent instead of the FW-190...[sm=wink_smile.gif]

My #1 favorite is the Great Planes Combat Mustang. I know it is not sold as an electric but I put a Himax 3522-990 with a 10x10 APC E and it is FAST! Not too hard to fly either. I had a Parkzone Mustang (acutally two) and the Great Planes mustang is much easier to fly in my opinion mostly because of how much more power it has with my setup. I wrote a full review of it if anyone is interested. E-flightline.com has a video of it on their video page, though my setup is a little different.

As far as Hyperions go, I had the P-51 .25E with the retracts (anybody see a pattern?). I got such a good deal on the kit I couldn't pass it up, but I stopped flying it after a couple flights because it just lumbered around and was not anywhere near the warbird type performance I had hoped for. I had a 400W (540W peak) motor on which was more powerful than the recommended setup, but she still couldn't even do a full loop. The gear needed to be bent back after every landing (and they weren't all bad) and eventually the left main gear assembly just came apart after a takeoff. I certainly didn't think it was all it was cracked up to be and after finally giving up on it I went back to my trusty Great Planes Combat Mustang and have never looked back.

I have flown (thought don't own) a Pzone T-28 and it is a fun airplane to fly, I was just a bit disappointed with quality of the motor. It is not the standard park 480 890 that E-flight sells, it seems to be a knockoff of something. The motor mount was a little flimsy as well.

I think the next bird in the hangar (actually livingroom) will be the GP P-40, but I just have to wait to crash one of the others first.

I hope the new F4U Corsair
I have flown the spit and 190 and the spit is much better. So for me it's the spit but after reading this then maybe I'll have to try the T-28.

Hiya guys - it seems like I just dropped into the Parkzone appreciation society annual general meeting - nothing wrong with that but c'mon guys, there's more to Life than P/Zone. Lets all think outside of the Envelope. Now, who's got the envelope??? Byeeee......

[:o] tam popo, honest, I am trying really hard to contain my enthusiasm for Horizon Hobby. The "problem" is PZ just keeps right on doing really exciting things!

For example, in my determination to be "balanced" (?) I tried to focus on my need for a Mig-15 and almost convinced myself that it was going to be my next "flying gun platform." Furthermore, while admiring the Spitter I occasionally remind myself that this otherwise intoxicatingly beautiful piece of equipment is actually a "killing machine" and should not be allowed to become an "idol," and thus I am able to feel justified in pursuit of my modeling agenda.

Okay, so what happened? Well, I made the fatal "mistake" of reading about the Corsair again on the PZ web site. I must have that plane, period! The Mig is going to have to wait, again.

If culture continues to make the kind of positive progress that may very well be in the process of happening even as we write, I predict that demand for historically/scientifically important model aircraft will experience explosive growth! ParkZone, with its stunning realism, high aerobatic performance capability airplanes, and interference free new technology is surely the clear modeling leader. I feel compelled to give credit where credit is due.

GO PARKZONE, GO!

I will have to vote for the E-FLight Hawker Sea Fury 400, Very nice looking plane goes together well and flies nicely with the Park 480 brushless outrunner.

Well how bout bigger stuff? Hangar 9 ring a bell with anyone? They are ARF's, and many are now electric setups.

Love my P40 and Camel, and someday even the B25.
