motor mount angle
 

i just got this months issue of model airplane news in. there was an article about when you mount a motor in a plane you should mount it a few degrees down and to the right. they said it would fly truer with that set up. does any of you guys set your planes up that way or do you just trim it out with the tx.

ALL MODEL AIRCRAFT..... RTF, ARF OR PLAN BUILD WILL ( TO A GREATER OR LESSER DEGREE ) HAVE AN AMOUNT SIDE AND DOWN THRUST. AROUND 3 DEGREES OF RIGHT THRUST WOULD BE NORMAL FOR A 40 - 60 SIZE AIRPLANE, THIS IS TO CANCEL OUT ENGINE TORQUE. THE MORE TORQUE YOUR ENGINE HAS...THE MORE OFFSET IT WILL NEED TO BE TO FLY TRUE. I HAVE A TWIN AIRPLANE THAT HAS NOTICABLY MORE DOWN AND SIDE THRUST ON THE RIGHT ENGINE THAN THE LEFT. YOU WILL MORE THAN LIKELY STILL HAVE TO TRIM THE AIRPLANE ON IT`S MAIDEN FLIGHT.
