newbie and northeast sailplanes

Hi! I'm new to the RC hobby, still trying to decide how I want to get started (other than the obvious -- contact local club and visit the flying field this weekend). Over a decade ago, I started to build a Sig Kadet Senior, but it's languishing away in my parents basement, 2000 miles away. The idea of a smallish, slow-flying plane that I could fly just about anywhere really appeals to me, so I started looking at park-flyer type planes.

Anyhow, let me get to the point -- I ended up at nesail.com, and liked the looks of several of their "slow flight" models (particularly the Pleaser Poly 260, as well as the dallaire sportster and Coronet 280).

Has anyone flown or built any of northeast sailplane's aircraft?

Does anyone have any advice for the novice about to embark on his first RC adventure? I'm still debating whether to go electric or glow (though if I go glow, I like the looks of a Sig LT-25). What are the merits of starting electric?
