RE: Which Motor

Well, you might browse the motors at Hobbycity or Tower for a motor that can handle 350-450 watts, i.e. 30A on a 3S lipo pack. I would suggest a kv rating of 1100-1500, so you can use propellers around 10 to 11 inches in diameter. Test with a wattmeter to make sure you are getting at least 300 watts, and are NOT over-running the maximum amperage of the motor. This size motor will probably weigh 4-5 ounces. You could use an ESC like the Super Simple ones from HC with a maximum amperage of 40A.

Bottom line - for 2-2.5 pounds, you should aim to set up for 125 watts/pound minimum (250-300+ watts) for scale flying on a small model, and a bit more if possible. If you run on 3S, you can use the built-in BEC on the ESC to power your receiver/servos.

Hope this helps...Chris
