Tigermoth Setup
Hey Guys,
I just started building my tigermoth and completed the elevator and rudder. I have a question. I put the tape on the side with no groove and did what the instructions said per bending it up 40 degrees until its rather loose. How does the tigermoth Land if the elevator doesn't go all the way down 40 degrees. It goes up but not all the way down. Did I do something wrong. Also I started putting the struts on the wings, the upper wings are confusing me. I don't see any slots for where I am suppose to put the 2 struts which will be screwed into the fuselage. Do those 2 struts go into the inner portion of the crease or the outer portion of the crease. Thanks |

If you search for tigermoth mods, you will reap vast rewards......that being said, don't worry about having 40 degrees down throw. You won't need it unless you plan on trying outside loops (very bad idea with this plane). The top of the cabane struts glues right to the top of the crease, not the sides. Make a very shallow incision the size of the strut in the foam at the crease and insert the strut and glue to get a better bond. god luck, you'll have 'er flying in no time!

Tigermoth Setup
One thing I noticed on my TM was that after several flights
the foam joiner on the elevator was getting very weak, to the point that only one side was flexing. I traced the failure to the hinge line being way to stiff. I simply cut the elevator and rudder completley off and the rehinged it with clear packing tape. the surfaces are now able to move much easier and both halves of the elevator now move equally.
