Chris that is one sexy plane! Did it make weight? My friend and I looked at that plane for over an hour Friday! I seriously would like to build one. I have a cnc foam cutter and laser that is begging for that one!

Great looking airplane and a beautiful finish. What is it painted with? You started with about 3 pounds of engine weight; so the remainder of your building and equipment weight was pretty restricted. I have a couple of big Moki's (1.80 &2.10) that I have been thinking about using in a pattern design. I'll be interested to read your flight report. Thanks for posting! :-)

Thanks for all the kudos guys... Things have been moving slowly for me these past 6-9 months. I suffered a brain and neck injury in 2015, it’s been a very long and painful road to recovery. Antonina was a form of therapy for me, but it’s been an uphill battle as of late. I had to have 3 vertebrae in my neck fused last July, and it hasn’t been a great experience. I’ll be building the new “flying” wings this Spring. I’ve already made some changes to allow for easier building, yet still maintaining the all composite look and feel to the design. I will post on this thread with updates.

New Wing Progress
The new wing cores have been cut on my home brew CNC Hotwire foam cutter. Templates were made for honeycombing, that part went really well. Cores are finish sanded to remove any traces of cutting marks, and I’ve been going through all my contest grade 1/16” balsa for the sheeting. The lightest of which will be going on the new stabs. In a near future post I’ll be showing my methods of sheeting prep with carbon tissue and nitrate dope as well as the fixture I designed to CNC cut the wing tube holes in the cores.

CNC cut cores, sanded to 220 grit
Foam cutting pen powered off of a brushed ESC
Simple poster board templates
Finished honeycombed panel. Super easy process, both wings took about 45 minutes total time.
I can't take credit for the honeycombing method. I borrowed it from Joe Moceri "JMDESIGNS" over on RCGroups... Link

More progress pics...
The fixture arm that I designed for my CNC foam cutter. The bed underneath it is an adjustable angle platform for setting precise dihedral angles, or in the case of the Antonina wings, to accurately set the top surface of the cores parallel with the hotwire.
Making a few test cuts to set an accurate kerf from the hotwire.
After 3 different tests she's dialed in perfectly.
The aluminum extrusion is 20mm thick, the top of the wing tube sleeve needs to be 6.5mm to the top of the core surface. Close enough for me...

More slow but steady progress...
Skins are all joined and rough trimmed. I just finished spraying 2 coats of thinned nitrate dope onto the inner skin surfaces. This is in preparation for bedding 0.2oz carbon veil to the skins with more thinned nitrate dope. At this stage the skins weigh an average of 32 grams each. I’m quite pleased with those figures.

I’ve got the wing tube sockets installed, tube end blocks, servo boxes fabricated and sub spars glued in. My plan is to laminate uni carbon down the foam spar area and along the aileron hinge line. Along with the carbon veiled skins, these should turn out to be extremely rigid wing panels. I will be sheeting them very soon.
