not familiar with the laser's, but the EX 46 will yank it around just fine....I have an Irvine 53 on my EF 540T, and its plenty -O-power. This is the best ARF profile on the market IMHO

Get well soon PRO SIS....G

I agree the 46fx will be great with a APC 11.5x4 prop, don't know about that 4 stroke, either way it's a great bird.

Here is an idea for our Sis. If you could find a way to get a laptop and a flight sim it could do wonders to relieve the bordom of the hospital as well as seriously improve flying skills. Just a thought.

BTW Aerofly Pro is awesome for 3D.

I will confirm on that. And I just connected my Aerofly Pro to my Dell Lattitude and it smokes. I think it actually runs alot better on my laptop than it does on my home PC.

Get well soon Prosis!

I went to the Joe Nall on Friday and met with Chris briefly. I picked up one of his Edge 540 profiles. So far - I am pleasantly pleased, to say the least. I have the airframe assemblied and all control surfaces hinged. I will start to rig it out tonight, in between my other projects. I am going with (Guess ) a Webra 50 with a X-Long Mac header and tuned pipe on mine. I decided to go with an ARF (that is a tough word for me to 'spit' out Kevin with and ARF! [X(]) because I just haven't found the time lately to build, and I needed something to fly. I had a rash of bad luck & mostly, pilot errors that wiped my fleet out! I guess I'll have to change my avitar now!

Salmonbug - Be sure to pass along my best wishes to Ann for a speedy recovery. As you know, you have found a "one of a kind" in that woman! She's terrific!

You could have your avatar say "Most ARFs".

Chris (Extreme Flight - Chris) told me at the Joe Nall that he has his at 1 in. behind the spar. He told me that with a Satio 72 mounted all the way in on the engine rails, he still had to add a small piece of lead on the tail to make the CG 1 in. behind the spar. I installed MPI 870 servos all the way around (except throttle), and changed the tail wheel assy. to a Dave Brown Haige style tail wheel assy. I had to mount my Webra 50 with the X-Long header and tuned pipe about mid point on the rails. This is probably because the Webra 50 is so light, the tune pipe set-up, and the tail mounted servos I used plus the Dave Brown tail wheel assy. I choose. I put a HiTec 225BB for the throttle, but was bad out of the box. I have exchanged it, and hope to test fly this weekend (I've been lazy!)

I put a set of CF landing gear that I got from Jeff Williams (Indy - Jeff ) a while back, not that there is anything wrong with the Crazy-Legs, by any means. Just thought that I would share what I did.

Swick,

I have an OS 46FX on mine, along with the Tower Muffler. It seems to have enough zip to do what it needs to do. It's not gut wrenching power, but it gets the job done. I may pull the 46 off the EF Edge soon to put on a Burrito that Scale Dreamer is framing up for me, and will probably replace it with an Irvine 53 .

But the 46FX will fly the plane fine, so "Let Er Rip, Tater Chip".............

I've got a 46 on mine until the Saito comes. I didn't add another washer, but I'm going to for this weekend's flying. I'm startuing to think it needs it.

Quicker - out of curiousity... which Satio are you going with, 72 or new 80 - something?
And, how much right thrust do you have in now (Best guess), with what prop? I installed pretty thick washers under the front of my Webra 50. I would guess that its more like about 2 plus degrees, and was afraid that it would be too much. I am going to try it there anyways though. I can always go to thinner washers. I am also planning on running a customized 12X4 Zinger woody - modified tips and thinned that I do.

I'm going with the 72. After reading all of Swany's posts I'm scared of the 82. Right now I'm just on the standard mounting rails with the built-in right thrust. I've got some really thin washers, so I'm going to try adding one to the front of the motor. When I get the Saito I'll go bakc to the stock mount alone and start over.

Just a thought Quicker,

Unless you have already bought the 72, you may want to try the 91. Gordo's Sledge with the 91 is awesome, and Sloan was using the Saito 100. You gain a couple ounces, but from what I could see, it didn't hamper the performance in the least, because you get MORE than enough thrust increase, to offset the added ounces.

If I go 4 stroke, it will definitely be the 91, or the 100 over the 72.

Just something to think about.

man, that 100 from Sloan was awesome ! What a vertical. If I wouldn't have the Irvine 53 for my EF Edge I would go with the Saito 100 in a heartbeat too.
