heres some pic of the TT 3D Spirit, was gonna test fly today, but the TT tank had a small pin hole in it, I normally check but got lazy and fueled it up, had to tear the tank out , and know it will take some minor repairs before I get it in the air. Has a Irv53...G

TERMAGATOR,
4lb, 9oz? Seems kinda high since it looks like you bought mostly air in a cool covering. What is the fuse made out of? Lite ply? I've been looking at it in the ads, looks like it should fly nice.

Tom ,
My scale is a POS, It just gives me ballpark figure
the fuse is made of light ply, it feels really light, I tried flying it again yesterday, but the motor just dont want to stay running inverted, next thing I'll do is pull the cowl off and try it again....next week...G

Had a similar problem on my old freestyle Rush. Tank was too high and kept floodin the engine. Not even a four stroke plug and leaning the thing out helped. Had to get a onboard glow going on it to keep the plug warm. Funny enough when you kept the glow driver thingy on it and the engine at half throttle untill right before take off the engine kept running in the air. Very funny thing to be honest. [:'(]

I have alot of slop in my linkage on the elev. I used 1/4-20 nylon wing bolts instead of the chicken***** stuff they use.....G

Alright, so I did my first flight yesterday. The plane tracks very well with very little trim needed. ON low rates this thing jjtracks like a arrow. I was reall impressed. I went to high rates on ailerons to see what the roll rate was like. Boy oh boy is it stupid fast. Pull the stick over and let it go and you have just done 2 perfect axial rolls.
My first flight didnt last too long. I started having engine trouble and had to land the plane. as I was comeing in I tried keeping it running but about 25 feet from landingthe motor died. NO problem. I eased it in, and thought to my self, wow, what a relief. And then all of a sudden the main gear gave out and it was sliding on its belly. Thunder Tiger employees arent the best gluers in the world. LOL One of the bulkheads was not glued in by much and gave up. This let the landing gear rotate back and fold under. I guess I will hav eot do some beeefing up on this. Keep in touch guys and I will tell you how the second and more flights go!

well...I finally got mine to fly today...I still have fuel tank issues, this plane does a very nice inverted harrier, rols really nice and tracked great in loops with the flaperons on.......but that is it. its a great looking plane, but with the hardware that comes with this kit makes it a P.O.S. saw my elevator flutter'n at very low speed, and the LG,,,,is a joke.
maybe I'm partial to profiles.....I sure hate these 2 stroke inverted motor mount planes.....keep that 3D Harrier away...its tempting...but no ....get that thing away from me
This plane(3D Spirit ) is not IMHO a keeper.....Gator

Thanks for the heads up G! Gotta love it when someone posts an honest opinion. This thing looks like its going the way of the Phoenix Fun Star and all the other says 3D but doesn't planes.

after sleeping on it, if you rigged the 3D Spirit with hand picked hardware, use 2 servos on the elevator instead of the stock set-up, ran a 4C engine, and beefed up the LG, it might be more enjoyable.
Are there any 4C flyers flying this plane?

And just think Gator, all that time fiddling with this plane and a perfectly good OMP Yak profile is just begging you to finish it.
