Default Flew with Dave McDonald today

Dave McDDD was in the Omaha area this weekend for family stuff and we got to fly together today for a few hours. I feel very humbled now that I have been in the presence of a real 3D flyer. [] Those MCP's are truely fantastic. I'm going to be building some for my motors ASAP.

It was a great time Dave. Thanks for letting me fly one of your planes. Wish it hadn't been so windy here. Hopefully next time you visit it will be better weather and we will have more time.

Tell me about it. That thing only had a TT 42 GP on it with a MCP and a MAS 11x4. The throttle was so perfectly linear...it was amaizing! The power was fantastic.

A MCP is a Mousse Can Pipe. Basically a tuned pipe made from an empty Mousse can.

Here's my MCP. I spent more time polishing the can than I did making the thing, but all together it was more than worth it.

OS 40FP, 9x6 APC, 15% Byron.... Just a shade under 15,000 RPM's.

I know Dave only through RCU, and before that other groups, but we have talked on here a lot and he has always been super helpful. He helped with MCP's and all kinds of SPAD questions including tips for a PBF only a shade over 2 LBS. That "plane" is an unbelievable flyer - just as Dave says, it's an overpowered feather.

Thanks Dave!

Jeff

Wow! Thanks for the kind words guys! Hearing that kind of praise from fellow ProBros that I admire means a lot to me!

[hmmm........suddenly my hat feels too small.]

[please excuse me for a few moments while i talk to my teenage son.]

[ok, I'm back now. hat feels normal again.....maybe too loose.]

Quicker, meeting and flying with you up there in Omaha was definitely one of the highlights of my trip! And I think we both proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the lower you fly......the less likely your plane will be damaged when you dork it.

Hey, if you were impressed by a McDDD getting bounced around in gusty 20 mph winds......just wait until you attend a ProBro and watch some real 3D flyers in action.....like Seeloff or Gator. What those guys routinely do with an airplane will blow you away! Especially when they do the same mind blowing stuff with YOUR airplane! [X(]

Yep, that's always my favorite thing.[8D] But it's a bummer that they don't seem to actually teach the plane anything, 'cause I still can't do a rolling harrier!!

Yes, we did do that. The Burrito is really good at cartwheels! I still need to patch up the one wingtip, but other than that, it's in great shape....one tough bird!

Mr. Twister is geographically confused... How can you be in Iran and Lebanon at the same time??
