Default What props are y'all using?

My Burrito is on its way and have to admit that I broke down and raided the wife's sewing fund to also order a TT46pro. Somehow the thought of not having enough power (TT GP42) was keeping me a wake at night :-)

So now I need to pick up a few things in anticipation of the arrival fo the kit and engine.

What size prop do most people use for their TT 46Pro engines in a Burrito?

Oh yes, I also ordered a 720mAH NiMh 5-cell battery pack too so it should come out pretty light (I hope).

Also, what size fuel tank and wheels do you guys use?

Does the Burrito kit include hinges and if not, what do you recommend?

I'm still trying to decide what servos to use -- I've got some 425BBs, 225MGs, 5245s and a few Futaba FS20 units that I bought 20 years ago -- one of these will be *perfect* for throttle me thinks.

The FS20s are not as torquey as an HS81 but they're light, fast and precise. They also worked wonderfully in couple of 45FSR-powered combat wings I used to fly and are virtually indestructable. One of them had the lugs ripped off the case in a crash and it still works perfectly.

I was thinking of the 425BBs on the tail-feathers, a 225MG for each aileron and an FS20 for throttle -- any comments on that?

i like the 12.25x3.75 apc on my 46tt others are using 11x4 or even 12x4 apc
as far as servos the 225MG is great and so are the 85MG's more torque than an 81 is better, one problem with using micros is that the pots and the servomotors dont last too long with the vibration
hope this helps.

Paul the designer is using the 11.5 x4 APC props as many others. Standard servo are ok for this bird however you can use the HS81 on the trottle the largest tank I've seen on them is an 8 oz as for hinges CA are ok or robart...

I've seen a few of the TT 46's pull a 12.25 x 3.75.. but most of them like the 11.5 x 4 better... I like the 1/4 scale ca hinges from Radio South. You can cut them in half and get twice as many!! http://www.radiosouthrc.com/pro-hinge.htm

i get about 12100rpm with my stock muffler, no baffle, 46tt, my osfx gets 13200 with a untunned MCP both with 12.5x3.75 i like the smoothness of this prop it just throttles smooth for me in hover and i like them better than the 11.5x4 which i use in a pinch, just suits my style better thats all. 15%nitro
i have the hobbico hinge slotter and use the nylon pinned hinges with polyglue, easy and free, and i like to be able to pull the pins out and fix the surface if it needs it...again everybody has their fav

On my profile (not a burrito) I am using the TTPro 46 with a 12.25X3.75 prop. Flies great. With a 4oz tank I get about 11 minutes of flight time. U think the key is that my profile is a feather weight and flies at about 3 clicks of throttle most of the time.
